Heavenly Gardens - live your dream today.
This one has a touch of the dystopian to it. I didn't originally intend to go for the run down look but a lack of sand green tiles led me to mix in some olive green and I decided to go with it. The once state of the art complex has fallen into disrepair. One of the shops in the ground floor arcade is closed for good and garbage has piled up in the alley behind the building.
The build started off as an exercise in trying to build a freestanding exterior stair at this scale. I'm reasonably happy with the result. Though I couldn't come up with a compact way to represent the actual risers.
This was a Saturday when I had a couple of hours to spare in between shopping at ASDA and going home to watch the FA Cup Final. Being in the harshest light of the afternoon, I wasn't expecting a great deal, but when I saw this interesting cloud pattern in an otherwise clear, blue sky, I knew that I had the potential for a mono infra red. Unfortunately , there was to be no heavenly, silver-lined cloud for Hull City.
This is straight out of the camera. We were driving out of the park at around 6 pm when I saw a herd of impala on the hill surrounded by the most beautiful light. I made my husband stop the car and reverse so I could take a few photos.
I haven't been around for a few days. Funny how life throws a curve ball at you, and suddenly there's no time for Flickr haha! I'm off to check out all of your wonderful photos! Hope you're having a great weekend everyone... :-)
When the floral bouquet has served its time, the beautiful flowers drop their colorful, yet lifeless, petals. They fall on a glassy reflection of heavenly blue sky and clouds.

Heavenly Dusk.
O'Brimming charms of beaming earths feathered climes,
sweetest delights ,thy melody of radiance shed,
splendorous pinions on celestial sonnets above majestic spheres.

*perfectly flawed* ~ song lyrics by otep

If you do this
If you do this
If you do this you’ll never have a chance to try again
If you do this you’ll never have a chance to try
It’s the same sound
The same sting
The same collapse
Of everything
It’s the same slice
Same blade
The same lie
Same old vein
My weight, my face
My height, my race
I’m a mistake
My weight, my face
My height, my race
I’m such a disgrace
You’re perfectly flawed
You’re perfectly incomplete
Like cracks in the glass
And faded photographs
You’re perfectly flawed
You’re perfectly incomplete
Let them condemn
Imperfections make you unique
Nothing left to lose,
Just try again
Nothing left to lose,
Just try again
It’s the same doubt
The same dream
It’s the same sabotage
`Cause I’m the enemy
It’s the same night
The same day
It’s the same parasites
Feedin’ on the betrayed
My weight, my face
My height, my race
I’m a mistake
My weight, my face
My height, my race
I’m such a disgrace
You’re perfectly flawed
You’re perfectly incomplete
A work in progress
Imperfections make you unique
A disguise of self deception
Hides my secrets perfectly
I’m rejecting my reflection
`Cause I hate the way it judges me
Don’t you do it,
You’re not even you yet
Don’t you do it,
You’re not even you yet
You’re perfectly flawed
You’re perfectly incomplete
Like cracks in the glass
And faded photographs
You’re perfectly flawed
You’re perfectly incomplete
A work in progress
Imperfections make you unique
Tianchi is an alpine lake in Xinjiang, Northwest China, The name (天池) literally means Heavenly Lake and can refer to several lakes in mainland China and Taiwan. It is an alpine drift lake shaped in the Quaternary Glacier period.
Shadow and light late afternoon in one of the many heavenly valleys in Ladakh. Dodging the rain storms wad key. It took me three attempts for this, shot just before sunset, while looking night sky spots.
Hazel, one of the five female alpacas, is waiting for me to finish scraping up her droppings from the floor of their shed. After I finished, I gave them some of their favorite food, grain pellets.

We have had a lot of rain in Maple Ridge recently but last week the rain stopped for two days. I took advantage of the dry days and got out for some walks and photos of some great fall sunsets.

One of our favourite pastimes on holiday in Olu Deniz, Turkey in September 2009 was watching the many paragliders land on and near the beach at sunset each evening, fantastic sight.

It is relaxing when one has the time to watch the clouds. It is also surprising just how fast they move across the sky. This sky was clearing after a storm and sun rays, like "heavenly spotlights" began to appear. This one was the most intense.
I use a Canon 5D Mark II and would be interested if anyone can suggest why a point and shoot camera icon appears as the one used for this shot. I know a 70-200 2.8 would not fit on it.
Today was a double whammy sunrise and sunset combo. The mid station at heavenly treated me very nicely.

I captured these beatiful light beams, during a morning walk with my dog.
The light just lasted for maybe 2 minutes, so I didn't had much time to capture this image.
It's handhold and cropped.
