I've come to love rainy days for the variety of photographic opportunities they provide.
多雨的台北住習慣了之後發現下雨天有其自有的美感,而現在反而讓我覺得有拍不完的好題材.

感謝影像解讀者兼友人給這張取名為"天空的眼淚".
My friend and trusted critic named this "tears of heaven" in Chinese. However, not only was that title taken by a famous song, but it doesn't imply in English the feeling of wonderment and joy the image conveys to me. So rather than tears that heaven is crying I prefer to think of them as tears that could only be heavenly or other-worldly.
Love is all
Love is all around you
Love is there in your laughter
In your hair
Love flows everywhere.
Love is old
Love is older than you
But the light shining through
Makes me see
Your love is all new.
Hey
Sha la la
Shine a light
Shine on me
Shine your light on me
Sha la la
Shine your light on me.
Love is all
Love will always be The Law
And higher love radiates on us all
On us all.
* Love Is All * ~ song lyrics by Roxette
Another one from last Thursday.
Straight out of the camera in beautiful Saybrook Twp Ohio. December 10, 2020.
This is the beautiful church in Bibury in the Cotswolds. What a lovely welcome with all the scented roses. As I walked along the path the scent of the roses was heavenly. A very romantic place to get married!
Saying Yes
Pause for a second sometime
beloved companion,
and say yes to the journey.
Say yes to here, and now,
to everything that is,
and to everything that was
or will be. Say yes to yesterday
and to everything that's come and gone.
Go on, try it. Say Yes!
Friend, proclaim it out loud:
Say yes to today
and yes to tomorrow.
Say yes I am.
Yes I can.
Yes I will.
Or whisper it silently to yourself
some quiet morning
or at bedtime,
with gratitude
and compassion
as in prayer.
Yes.
The great life affirming
ever present,
ever constant,
all encompassing,
eternal and compelling yes
of being you.

Mission Nombre de Dios ~ La Leche Shrine ~ This country's first parish mass was celebrated on Sept. 8th, 1565 when Pedro Menendez de Aviles arrived at was to be St. Augustine. A 204 foot stainless steel cross marks the site ~ St. Augustine, Florida U.S.A.
[FYI: The very tall cross (204 feet) is 41 feet taller
than the area's Saint Augustine Lighthouse (163 feet)
and can be seen from miles out at sea.]

Ponce de Leon claimed Florida for Spain in 1513. (Christopher Columbus discovered North America in 1492 but actually landed in the Bahamas). Other Spanish explorers later found gold and silver in Mexico and Peru. The treasure was sent back to Spain in ships sailing in the Gulf Stream. Spanish settlements needed to be built in Florida to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets. King Phillip II of Spain sent Pedro Menendez to settle in Florida and drive out French garrisons recently established there. In September 1565, Pedro Menendez with 700 soldiers and colonists landed here and founded St. Augustine making it the oldest continually occupied European settlement in North America ~ Treasure Coast ~ NE Florida ~ Saint Augustine, FL U.S.A.
Catching good light is always so hit or miss, and more often than not, it's a miss. Brian was sure this was a dud of a sunset until all hell broke loose and gave us one of the most beautiful light shows I've seen. It was just luck that I happened to have my camera in hand to capture it, I figure most great shots are just that...luck. We can prepare all the time, imagining in our heads an image we'd love to capture, but most often, the reality and our dreams don't align. But I think that's a good thing...it gives us the motivation to keep going out...to get that image branded in our minds. But I have to say, that sunset overlooking the city, it was perfection.
Totally inspired by Emma. :)
This is just... one of those shots. Taken when the clouds cleared on Tuesday afternoon, and processed with my light glaze action.
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. ~Author Unknown
I was really on the fence about going out for photos since I had been running around all day and wanted to relax. But I decided to give it a shot, while I left my apartment I looked over and saw this really cool red glow that instantly got my attention and I hurried up across town. As I pulled off by the tracks since I didn't want to lose this epic lighting I started snapping photos. Sadly, all the lightning was hidden by rain, I then mumbled to myself "Come on, please give me one good bolt" then 5 seconds later boom! Close range CG hits just down the tracks while the sky is a heavenly orange!
I am heading home tomorrow from Birmingham. One of my favorite things we did was to go for a hike in the mountains. It's very hot here, between 95-100 degrees so you cannot hike for too long. Also, it can suddenly start raining like there is no tomorrow and this can go on for an hour with thunder and lightning. I love the dramatic weather.
I'm going to miss Birmingham...
The art of photography, to me, is about pursuit. I've spent many nights on top of this mountain in Arizona gathering data for my thesis. During this time, I've learned the desert has the capacity for some amazing displays. This one was during my most recent and likely my last trip. I knew based on the clouds that the potential for a sunset was good. This amateur forecaster approach usually leads to disappointment, but this time made all the others worth it. About 10 minutes after I arrived at my location, the pinks began to touch the clouds. The color became deeper, more saturated and raced up the sky for an absolutely brilliant show. I captured this near its peak, and I really wish I had a wider lens. Moments like this make the pursuit of an image worth the effort. I hope you enjoy this shot, and I wish you all luck in your own pursuits.
Under Heavenly Skies, just love this location, just love this sky..a lone fisherman in the middle of the River Eden under this gorgeous sky.

I slapped the 50mm on the camera yesterday and took it out with us while we ran errands to shoot from the hip for something different. So many didn't turned out, but I thought a few of them were kinda fun. :-)
This shot was taken at the Cincinnati Art Museum and I tried my very best to capture the two of them together in the best way I could. I know my sister will love these and she is the first person I thought of when I took this shot. Hope you like them Bridgett!
