This Odontoglomsum Orchid was taken while attending Orchid seminar,
There is nothing more beautiful and delicate that stays in bloom for so long, unfortunately only blooms once a year, well at least they have beautiful foliage:-)
The scientific name is derived from the Greek words odon (tooth) and glossa (tongue), referring to the two tooth-like calluses on the base of the lip.

This is the crossing of Ely Cathedral, looking up at the octagonal lantern built in the 14th century. At the centre is a wooden boss carved from a single piece of oak, showing Christ in Majesty, and it is surrounded by images of the angels. In the stained glass windows all around are the Saints. As such, this is a vision of the Church Triumphant.
Looking heavenwards to them is us, the Church Militant on earth. The building, therefore, expresses our longing for communion with God and the Saints in heaven.

Finally a nice sunset. With the all the sunny days we've been having and no clouds the sunsets have been bland and boring, until recently. I actually set out with my lenses, filters and tripod and when I got to the this site, I realized that I had forgotten my 5D3. No worries, as I had the X-100 in the camera bag.
Better for the eyes and soul in the light box.
It was a clear night and at 4am, the Milky Way was directly above Tickenham Church.
Not as spooky as a I thought it was going to be stood in a graveyard in the dark.

Back to Bosham, West Sussex again today to capture the sunset, the waters of the creek were really still and the lower reaches were frozen and I was greeted with this amazing cloud formation reflecting on the water just before sunset.
I have photographed Bosham many time in the past but never seen a cloud formation like this before!
1/40 second exposure using Lee 0.6 + 0.3 ND grad filters.

This one has a touch of the dystopian to it. I didn't originally intend to go for the run down look but a lack of sand green tiles led me to mix in some olive green and I decided to go with it. The once state of the art complex has fallen into disrepair. One of the shops in the ground floor arcade is closed for good and garbage has piled up in the alley behind the building.
The build started off as an exercise in trying to build a freestanding exterior stair at this scale. I'm reasonably happy with the result. Though I couldn't come up with a compact way to represent the actual risers.
