I wish that big leaf was in focus. Oh well. I love this picture though, I love the light. :)
Today, I felt really inspired. I decided to take a walk in the park while carrying my camera to capture scenes like this. I think light is one of the factors of making a photo work. Light makes everything look good. I used my helios lens for this. This lens never failed to impress me.
I hope all of you are having a good week! :) Cheers.

I have not died. Nor am I in Bilbao. I'm too early. Besides, this is a tapas bar. It would be pintxos in Bilbao.
All of this dislocation in space and time is my excuse. I make no apology.
Around the corner from City Recital Hall is a skinny little tapas bar. After Handel, I recommend feeding the body. I wouldn't say no to a chilled manzanilla, a few snacks, some conversation, and reflection on the performance just experienced. I'm too early for the commemoration to follow. I'm in the wrong place.
Roll forward two days; 5 December 2025. The esteemed architect Frank Gehry has died. Perhaps you know him for the spectacular titanium clad Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. No, I've never been to the Basque Country. But I have seen one piece of Gehry's work: the Dr Chau Chak Wing Building at the University of Technology, Sydney. I can't show you a picture, so I need to go back, stalk the light, and visit with a lens up to the job.
Put aside any sadness his demise leaves behind, because he has left behind extraordinary things, a heavenly legacy we can marvel at as great as Handel, Bach, Jackson Pollock, Jørn Oberg Utzon, Pink Floyd, Neil Finn or Vambola Veinberg.
I have not died; this is not heaven. But it is a tapas bar. That's close enough for the ecstasy these simple pleasures bring.

This bloom is as wide as a saucer.

You did it again, you lied, you turned into the monster I met. Excuses and safety nets.
You scream insults at me, when I know the girls you have up your sleeve. You compare me to your Evil ex. I take the medal, the compliment. I will take it all, a smart woman see the game and her opponent ... And while he's intent on covering his tracks, she will be creating a web, weaving a noose. When you dont see it will be placed on your neck, with every lie, betrayal, and excuse, You fail. You fail to see the noose, the difference between a good girl and the ones that are loose. Then you think you win and you played me best. But my sweet little bumble bee, where is your honey?
My feathers fell, with every lie, with every insult and every betrayal. Now they have fallen, like you. They are ugly and useless, like you. They are everything you are... weightless and pointless. They are flying away with no direction like you... The only thing that separates you and my feathers...Is someone will pick a feather up and say how 'beautiful' it is.... The only thing left for someone to say to you, is ; "I cant believe I ever trusted or fell in love with you"
This isn't a goodbye my sweet destructive snake... This is your eulogy.
This was taken at the Franciscan monestary in Brookland. This light refraction was not intentional. Eerie! Huh?
A very calm body of water reflects the velvety green landscape near Tachika (Si Qu), Sichuan China. The image of two hands pressed together in prayer didn't occur to me at the time I was taking this photo. I was merely mesmerized by the mirror like quality of the lake. Taken on a whim out of a moving van; another lucky shot.
Heavenly Gardens - live your dream today.
This one has a touch of the dystopian to it. I didn't originally intend to go for the run down look but a lack of sand green tiles led me to mix in some olive green and I decided to go with it. The once state of the art complex has fallen into disrepair. One of the shops in the ground floor arcade is closed for good and garbage has piled up in the alley behind the building.
The build started off as an exercise in trying to build a freestanding exterior stair at this scale. I'm reasonably happy with the result. Though I couldn't come up with a compact way to represent the actual risers.
I fished this old photo out from a few years back, taken with an older camera. Brought back some memories of visiting Xinjiang, China to see this beautiful lake.
