I've finally been to Proxy Falls and seen why this is a favorite waterfall to many of my photo friends. It's almost an entire mountainside of streaming water.... such a special place. By the way, this was shot in the later afternoon with a blue sky - so I kept the reflecting blue in the water instead of trying to remove it.......

I'm back from 4 days in Central Oregon with lots of new images to share.... stay tuned ;D

Heavenly beach in Koh Nang Yuan, Thailand

The Old Church on Burrow Mump in the middle of the Somerset Levels. Shot as a single 15s exposure with a CTO gelled flash inside the church and car headlights from miles away illuminating the exterior.

Mission Nombre de Dios ~ La Leche Shrine ~ This country's first parish mass was celebrated on Sept. 8th, 1565 when Pedro Menendez de Aviles arrived at was to be St. Augustine. A 204 foot stainless steel cross marks the site ~ St. Augustine, Florida U.S.A.

[FYI: The very tall cross (204 feet) is 41 feet taller

than the area's Saint Augustine Lighthouse (163 feet)

and can be seen from miles out at sea.]

Ponce de Leon claimed Florida for Spain in 1513. (Christopher Columbus discovered North America in 1492 but actually landed in the Bahamas). Other Spanish explorers later found gold and silver in Mexico and Peru. The treasure was sent back to Spain in ships sailing in the Gulf Stream. Spanish settlements needed to be built in Florida to protect the Spanish Treasure fleets. King Phillip II of Spain sent Pedro Menendez to settle in Florida and drive out French garrisons recently established there. In September 1565, Pedro Menendez with 700 soldiers and colonists landed here and founded St. Augustine making it the oldest continually occupied European settlement in North America ~ Treasure Coast ~ NE Florida ~ Saint Augustine, FL U.S.A.

Catching good light is always so hit or miss, and more often than not, it's a miss. Brian was sure this was a dud of a sunset until all hell broke loose and gave us one of the most beautiful light shows I've seen. It was just luck that I happened to have my camera in hand to capture it, I figure most great shots are just that...luck. We can prepare all the time, imagining in our heads an image we'd love to capture, but most often, the reality and our dreams don't align. But I think that's a good thing...it gives us the motivation to keep going out...to get that image branded in our minds. But I have to say, that sunset overlooking the city, it was perfection.

Totally inspired by Emma. :)

This is just... one of those shots. Taken when the clouds cleared on Tuesday afternoon, and processed with my light glaze action.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. ~Author Unknown

Clematis, from my garden.

I am heading home tomorrow from Birmingham. One of my favorite things we did was to go for a hike in the mountains. It's very hot here, between 95-100 degrees so you cannot hike for too long. Also, it can suddenly start raining like there is no tomorrow and this can go on for an hour with thunder and lightning. I love the dramatic weather.

I'm going to miss Birmingham...

the winter solstice moon adding to the holiday lights fantastic....!

Finally had the chance to model these heavenly Nine West heels, a gift from earlier in the month.

The art of photography, to me, is about pursuit. I've spent many nights on top of this mountain in Arizona gathering data for my thesis. During this time, I've learned the desert has the capacity for some amazing displays. This one was during my most recent and likely my last trip. I knew based on the clouds that the potential for a sunset was good. This amateur forecaster approach usually leads to disappointment, but this time made all the others worth it. About 10 minutes after I arrived at my location, the pinks began to touch the clouds. The color became deeper, more saturated and raced up the sky for an absolutely brilliant show. I captured this near its peak, and I really wish I had a wider lens. Moments like this make the pursuit of an image worth the effort. I hope you enjoy this shot, and I wish you all luck in your own pursuits.

this was taken in a clinic . I imagine this as a modern fairy tale scene, when grand grand parents look down from the heaven , watching their grand grand children, the sticker and the grain glass, giving it a cartoon like approach..

How I wish you could see the potential,

the potential of you and me.

It's like a book elegantly bound but,

in a language that you can't read.

Just yet.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

There are days when outside your window

I see my reflection as I slowly pass,

and I long for this mirrored perspective

when we'll be lovers, lovers at last.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

I will possess your heart.

I will possess your heart.

You reject my... advances... and desperate pleas...

I won't let you... let me down... so easily.

So easily.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

You gotta spend some time, Love.

You gotta spend some time with me.

And I know that you'll find, love

I will possess your heart.

I will possess your heart.

I will possess your heart.

This is Iranians' favorite color.

I slapped the 50mm on the camera yesterday and took it out with us while we ran errands to shoot from the hip for something different. So many didn't turned out, but I thought a few of them were kinda fun. :-)

This shot was taken at the Cincinnati Art Museum and I tried my very best to capture the two of them together in the best way I could. I know my sister will love these and she is the first person I thought of when I took this shot. Hope you like them Bridgett!

Well this is was my first attempt at a startrail. I know there are pitfalls in this photo and there are hundreds and thousands of these photos on the web that are better than this. But just wanted to share and get some constructive feedbacks so that I can improve it next time.

Heavenly Swing Set.

Milky Way galaxy above a swingset in the water off of Bombay Beach at the Salton Sea. This art installation is in the Bombay Beach community of the Salton Sea and is the work of @ssippi on Instagram.

I've been wanting to shoot the Milky Way over this swing ever since I learned about it being installed here earlier this year. This past Friday July 5th the conditions were just right: no wind, calm & reflective water, and clear skies. This is a blend of a tracked exposure of the sky and another exposure of the swing, lake, and mountains in the background. As with all my composite shots, everything is where it really was at the time. This took several hours of processing to get the colors, edges of the horizon, masking out the swing from the tracked sky exposure, and more.

Exposure time for the tracked sky was 240 sec f/4 ISO 400 and the for the swing, water, and mountains in the distance, 180 sec f/4 ISO 400. Due to the 85° F temperatures, there is a bit more noise here than my recent milky way shots I've done in the mountains.

The bright blob of light on the top left of the swing is due to a solar lamp mounted here.

Though the lake is drying up due to famers using much more efficient crop irrigation methods (that results in much less runoff water flowing into the sea), several eccentric artists have begun flocking to the area in recent years. This is one of many

fascinating art installations in the area.

I've been intrigued (maybe obsessed as well) with the Salton Sea ever since I saw an exhibit about it at the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts several years ago.

The Salton Sea is a shallow, saline, endorheic rift lake located directly on the San Andreas Fault, predominantly in the U.S. state of California's Imperial and Coachella valleys.

The lake occupies the lowest elevations of the Salton Sink in the Colorado Desert of Imperial and Riverside counties in Southern California. Its surface is 236.0 ft (71.9 m) below sea level as of January 2018.[1] The deepest point of the sea is 5 ft (1.5 m) higher than the lowest point of Death Valley. The sea is fed by the New, Whitewater, and Alamo Rivers (though just a trickle), as well as agricultural runoff, drainage systems, and creeks.

Decades ago, the Sea had its heyday and was booming with tourists, fishermen, boaters, swimmers, water skiers, yacht clubs, and hotels. In time, however, the salinity of the water began killing off the fish by the millions. Also, algae blooms would boom and bust and the stench of the decaying algae would give a a sulphur (rotten egg / sewage) smell and drive tourists away. Despite all this, the Sea is still an amazing and beautiful lake and is worth preserving.

Just the other day, the United State House of Representatives passed H.R. 2740, an appropriations bill in support of a federal agreement to allot $30 million for projects which would address the environmental and health crisis at the Salton Sea. While this bill still needs approval from the president before being enacted, this is some great news. #saltonsea #bombaybeach

Fuji Instax Wide, Black Frame edition.

It's a cliché shot for sure but it's one I still had to take. On a chilly, clear night with barely a breeze its easy to see why this spot has become so famous. The stars were very much visible with the naked eye which made lining up a comp particularly easy.

This shot was captured early in the morning near Ibiza Harbour,Beautiful uh!!

I was taking some shots of the sky tonight, when the sun shone through the broken cloud. The rays of light were heavenly.

There was also a hint of a surf tonight- we do not normally get waves in this part of the lough- the noise of the waves crashing against the shore was so beautiful.

The Antelope Canyons, where colors melt on every curve! This one is of the upper canyon a place where you want to get lost!

Built in the XII century, St Mary Redcliffe church is the tallest building in Bristol (89m). It's gothic architecture gives it a cathedral look, but it's only a parish church. According to Queen Elizabeth I, "the fairest, goodliest, and most famous in England".

There are beautiful sunsets recently in Bristol, which make the whole city glowing with fantastic colours.

Mixed deciduous and coniferous trees stretch toward the heavens at Millington Wood in East Yorkshire, England. I love the fresh green of the newly emerged foliage in springtime, particularly when contrasted against some blue skies. Best viewed in 'L' mode.
