A few images from the Cliff Mautner workshop in Philadelphia/New Jersey. Workshops are limited 20 and sell out many weeks in advance. Participants come from all over the globe and this is a great way to connect with a great group of people and with a world class instructor.

We both love the Gerald and Piggy series by Mo Willems. We would actually play the whole scene when reading the books. She always chooses to be Piggy :)

Taken at the Lakeside Rodeo last weekend. The men here, in the light shirts, are called Life Savers. They used to be called bull fighters, and at one time, they put on makeup and were called Rodeo Clowns. I have no idea what their next job title will be. Probably something like "Job Safety Enhancement Supervisors" or whatever lame title the marketing folks come up with. Their actual job is to protect the bull rider when he is been thrown or dumped by the bull. It appears to be an incredibly dangerous job, and they are really good at it. In this scene, they have put themselves between the bull and the bull rider, who is limping off, stage right after being thrown by the bull. They rush in, time after time, to put themselves in front of an enraged bull, during the course of an afternoon. Maybe they dream about being accountants, ....... but I doubt it. I have previously posted color pictures of this encounter in my photostream, but I think that the beautiful dramatic light and the stark nature of the scene deserve a black and white version.
This looks best when viewed large against a black background, and you can see it in that enlightened manner by pressing "L" on your keyboard.

Dramatic light late in the afternoon of November 19, 2021. Sunlight on the snow-covered summits of Spanish Fork Peak (10,192 ft) & Loafer Mountain (10,687 ft) - a portion of Utah Lake can be seen below Loafer Mountain.

Westminster Cathedral in London is the mother church of the Catholic community in England and Wales. It is the largest Catholic church in England. John Betjeman called it "a masterpiece in striped brick and stone in an intricate pattern of bonding, the domes being all-brick in order to prove that the good craftsman has no need of steel or concrete."
