Yanire in a dark studio portrait, her hair caught in motion against a deep black background for a bold, dramatic look. The off-shoulder black top, delicate pearl necklace and sculpted light create an elegant, fashion-inspired mood that highlights her feminine lines and confident presence.

I used the Dramatic Light filter in onOne Perfect B&W for most of the image, but used Perfect Layers to mask out the woman’s head, and applied a bit of extra detail and desaturation to her hair in the Enhance module.

Nile Empress: Gilded Presence: A modern interpretation of ancient Egyptian elegance, layered gold, sculpted light, and a stance that feels both timeless and deliberate. Warm side lighting shapes the form while a cool backlight adds separation, giving the scene a subtle cinematic depth.

I accidentally sat on the floor next to a heater and thus the blowing hair. :)

April 3. My sister is always game for some awesome and funky dance moves. I got a new 430ex ii today in exchange for my Promaster 7500edf which I'm very happy about. It wasn't doing what I wanted / what I thought it was supposed to do so the awesome people at Dan's Camera City in Allentown, PA let me return it for marginally less than the price I paid for it. They always give me the best customer service when I go there.

Alternate photo which I had a hard time choosing between.

So here is the deal with these recent images of myself... I was signed to a modeling agency and needed some images for a portfolio. So being a photographer, I decided to save a bit of money and do it myself :)

This particular image though was taken by my good friend Dennis Line, who graciuosly spent an evening working with me in his studio as we played around with lighting techniques.

circuit board with light effect.

This year, I joined a local photography guild to force myself into trying things that I have no idea how to do!

Like taking studio portraits of a model!

Last night the club held an in-studio session with a model named Sarah Van Der Valk. Thankfully the much more experienced members of the club know how to set up lights, because I have no idea!

Over two hours, we all took turns photographing Sarah in three different scenarios and outfits, the lights were set up for us and we figured out our camera settings.

So, here is my first official attempt at in-studio model portraits using a combination of flash and constant light.

Thanks The Latow Photographers Guild and Sarah van der Valk

In the dying light of a winter's evening, beneath cold stadium lamps and heavier expectations, one lone player shoulders the storm. The chaos surrounds him—hands grasp, bodies clash, and determination collides with resistance—but his eyes never lower. It's not just a scrum of boys. It’s a moment carved from courage, stitched with loyalty, and laced with silent resolve. Every tackle, every cry, every breath is part of something larger—a raw hymn to bravery in motion, where the line between defeat and glory is not defined by score, but by heart.

I told you I had more of these mugs...

Another quiet day in the life of Sara. I made popcorn tea and had a pretty relaxing day. I also discovered that the light above our stove makes for some pretty cool photographs.

Edit, some time later: I really, really like how this turned out. It's very me.
