There’s a particular weight that settles on boys the moment they begin to outgrow the world’s expectations of them. It’s the quiet confusion of wanting to be strong while still learning what strength even means. In his eyes you can see the tug-of-war of adolescence, trying to understand himself while the world keeps trying to define him first.
He isn’t lost, just in the middle of becoming. And in this small, unguarded moment, you glimpse the honesty of a boy learning how to carry both his uncertainty and his courage, hoping that someday he’ll find where he fits, or perhaps build a new place entirely.

Almost as colourful as in autumn, these roadside oak trees provide a splendid display of colour as they come into full leaf in strong spring sunshine, emphasized by a dark stormy sky.

I’ve always admired how the old masters—especially Rembrandt—used darkness not as absence, but as presence. The light doesn’t explain everything here, and that’s intentional. Age, texture, and time are allowed to show without correction.
This image also marks my first submission of 2026 to 52Frames, a project that traditionally begins the year with a selfie—an invitation to look inward before pointing the camera outward again.
Shot digitally, but with a deliberate nod to classical portraiture, where mood mattered more than sharpness, and silence carried weight.

11 Days to wander the northern part of Norway on my own with only my camera and a rental car to keep my company. It was a magnificent road trip that took me to the tip of Lofoten, into the winding fjords of Senja, and through the surrounding fjords. The weather was challenging most days, but also delivered incredible natural light.
