Lara Croft: Locked on Target - A cinematic Lara Croft cosplay portrait inspired by Tomb Raider. With dual pistols drawn and eyes locked forward, this studio setup captures the intensity and confidence of the iconic adventurer. Custom 3D-printed prop weapons and dramatic rim lighting add depth and tension, bringing the action-game energy into a controlled studio environment.

Lit with a Flashpoint XPlor 600 key, Godox AD200/V1-P fill, and a gobo backlight for that signature cinematic edge.

Sunset ~ Florida Everglades

This was a night shot taken at Canyon Creek Ranch as part of a 12 hour workshop put on by the Arizona Professional Photographers Association. As part of the workshop, actors/ models were there in period costumes. The actor in the doorway of the church is Greg Wildman who was in character as Milo, a member of the Clanton Maclaury gang.

This was taken after the sun had set, and we used long exposures (I was at 3 seconds) while one of the instructors did light painting on the exterior of the church using an LED flashlight, and a dim light inside the church provided the backlighting. I love the dramatic look of this, and having the model light up a cigarette to create smoke was brilliant on the part of the instructor.

Other images that I took during the day long workshop at Canyon Creek Ranch are in my Canyon Creek Ranch Album.

"and I know that holding us in place is simply fear of what's already changed"

Just a lot of places “like” it.

In a moment between fear and fortitude, a hand becomes an anchor, a lifeline.

Lines of strain carve her face, yet within them lies a beauty far deeper than ease — the beauty of fighting for something greater than herself.

Yanire in a dark studio portrait, her hair caught in motion against a deep black background for a bold, dramatic look. The off-shoulder black top, delicate pearl necklace and sculpted light create an elegant, fashion-inspired mood that highlights her feminine lines and confident presence.

Some wonderful sidelighting this last Sunday afternoon at Sharpitor. This is the view looking towards Leather tor during what amounted to 5 minutes max of fantastic light just before sunset.

A striking image of a snake coiled around a tree branch, captured in dramatic lighting. The intricate patterns on the snake's scales are highlighted, showcasing the beauty and complexity of this reptile. The contrast between the dark, textured bark and the smooth, patterned skin of the snake creates a visually captivating scene.

A voice carved from shadow.

Suspended between silence and cry,

this dark figure stands like a guardian of forgotten skies.

Not just a bird —

but a symbol of instinct, presence, and untamed truth.

In the stillness, even a whisper feels like thunder.

I used the Dramatic Light filter in onOne Perfect B&W for most of the image, but used Perfect Layers to mask out the woman’s head, and applied a bit of extra detail and desaturation to her hair in the Enhance module.

Nile Empress: Gilded Presence: A modern interpretation of ancient Egyptian elegance, layered gold, sculpted light, and a stance that feels both timeless and deliberate. Warm side lighting shapes the form while a cool backlight adds separation, giving the scene a subtle cinematic depth.

I accidentally sat on the floor next to a heater and thus the blowing hair. :)

April 3. My sister is always game for some awesome and funky dance moves. I got a new 430ex ii today in exchange for my Promaster 7500edf which I'm very happy about. It wasn't doing what I wanted / what I thought it was supposed to do so the awesome people at Dan's Camera City in Allentown, PA let me return it for marginally less than the price I paid for it. They always give me the best customer service when I go there.

Alternate photo which I had a hard time choosing between.

So here is the deal with these recent images of myself... I was signed to a modeling agency and needed some images for a portfolio. So being a photographer, I decided to save a bit of money and do it myself :)

This particular image though was taken by my good friend Dennis Line, who graciuosly spent an evening working with me in his studio as we played around with lighting techniques.
