I was going for the Joel Grimes look on this one. Two big soft boxes on either side, plus one above the camera for a fill.

Draped in scarlet satin, she is a vision of allure—soft curves, bold lips, and a gaze that lingers like a whispered promise. The air is thick with the scent of roses and temptation, as she sits poised between elegance and desire. In the language of red, she speaks only in fire.

I’m developing a bit of an obsession with taking selfies whenever there’s a reflective surface. This was the nozzle of a hand drier in a toilet at the Eden Project.

Description: A woman waits in the last gasp of sunlight.

Natural light through a large window was all that was used; the window caused the shadow framing on the wall.

Inside The Core, at the Eden Project, is this amazing work of art – the Seed. It’s carved from one huge rock.

Often enough I feel like there's a vacuum in my mind, and because of it, I feel restless, or anxious. And I try to plug it with something, anything...but I can never seem to hole it up. Usually I listen to this hip hop song called "Cosmic Gypsies", and imagine myself floating through space...which, not surprisingly, is what the song is about. And that helps, temporarily.

Shot this with the 30mm f/1.4 at f/2.5 to avoid softness. Used two steel clamp-up lamps and my 40" reflector/diffuser/flag for lighting. (As a diffuser, not a reflector or flag, haha) It just really hit me the other day, that I only have the 30mm- I just packed up my 18-55mm today (sold it to a photographer in NY) and my 50mm f/1.8 is on my brother's camera.

This is my first self-portrait in quite a long time. Makes me want to start another 365, but I know I'll just end up not being able to make the daily deadlines. Maybe this summer I'll start one and keep it going when college classes start in August.

This is another image I'm planning to use for the 10 Photoshop Techniques project- this one demonstrates a use of multiple images at different exposures, so as to encompass the best highlights, the best shadows, and the best midtones. This is referred to as high dynamic range imaging, or simple an HDR image. Though, this is not a true HDR, as the three source shots were actually the same image, just tweaked in Photoshop's RAW plug-in for exposure.

Beautiful light and clouds this morning before it just became clouds about 12 noon.

LIGHT AND SHADOW

My homage to those Technicolor movie posters of Asian movie stars. The garish colors and the other worldly beatification of their movie heroes has always put my teeth on edge. So, here, in all that technicolor glory is Miyoshi, benevolent goddess of inexhaustible Technicolor Glory!
