This is my second photo of a CFL 3000 locomotive (the first one was number 3007 in Pétange 6 months earlier). It is also the last photo I ever made of this locomotive, as it burnt down 3 months after this photos was made and would never be reconstructed. The photo is all but unique, as it was taken during a TSP trip on line 42. That doesn't make it any less pleasing to look at though, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Following the sun led me from Pyhrntal railway to the Rudolf Railway between Selzthal and St. Michael. I don't think I've ever made photos here, so that was an interesting stop. Besides a freight train, I also got this EuroCity train connecting Graz and Saarbrücken.
It was challenging to set up the pole here, on a 45° slope. Testing the limits, it turned out just fine.

On sort les vieux dossiers retravaillés de 2018/2019 et en voici un parmi les autre que je voulais retravailler.
Nous sommes en début juillet 2018, pas mal d'averses étaient de la partie mais aussi du soleil comme en témoigne ce jour là, le 5.
Voici le passage de la BB 67446 Bleu en tête de deux Rames Inox Omnibus où RIO des années 80 dans leurs livrées transiliennes, sur la ligne P pour La Ferté-Milon dans l'Aisne depuis Paris Est, sous le numéro 117253.
L'ensemble est aperçu dans les champs de la commune de Villenoy en Seine et Marne et s'apprête à desservir la gare de Meaux.
Voilà 5 ans que ces dernières ont disparu du paysage ferroviaire de l'est de l'Ile de France, remplacées par les AGC mais bon, c'était sympa mine de rien.

We’re digging out the old, revised files from 2018/2019, and here’s one of the many I wanted to revisit.
It’s early July 2018; there were quite a few showers, but also some sunshine, as this particular day—the 5th—shows.
Here is BB 67446 Bleu leading two 1980s RIO stainless steel Omnibus trainsets in their Transilien livery, on Line P to La Ferté-Milon in the Aisne from Paris Est, under number 117253.
The train can be seen in the fields of the commune of Villenoy in Seine-et-Marne, preparing to serve Meaux station.
It’s been five years since these trains disappeared from the railway landscape of eastern Île-de-France, replaced by the AGCs, but hey, they were actually quite nice.

A Southern Ontario Railway SD40-2 (born as CP 5516) is leading Richmond-Southwark train 393 through the crossovers at Montbec. Consist : RLHH 3403, SLR 3004, QGRY 6904, SLR 806, SLR 3806.
Le Firema E86 ET 15 "Cles" e 17 "Mezzolombardo" effettuano il Treno 33 (Mezzana - Trento) del 7 aprile 2025. La foto mostra le due "Bianchine" poco oltre della fermata di Mastellina.
Après avoir effectué des essais ERTMS sur le territoire suisse, la BB 22251 achemine la rame d'essai composée de la BB 27110E, BB 27109E, la voiture "Aline", la voiture 235-8 et la BB 27028E de Genève-La-Praille à Bellegarde. La rame est vue à Satigny située dans le canton de Genève à quelques kilomètres de la frontière française.

FR - 26 avril 2026, 07h29 – Mimoň, Tchéquie - Ligne Liberec – Česká Lípa
C’est un train charter (ou « photo-train ») affrété et financé par des photographes et vidéastes qui se cotisent pour s’offrir quelques circulations à l’allure authentique, sur une ligne restée presque figée dans le temps depuis des décennies.
Ce jour-là, un groupe assez nombreux s’était rassemblé à ce passage à niveau pour attendre le passage du convoi. Mais un détail venait sérieusement troubler cette reconstitution historique : trois affreuses poubelles modernes en plastique, deux jaunes et une noire, trônaient fièrement juste devant la maison, au bord de la voie.
Évidemment, elles furent rapidement exfiltrées sur la gauche, hors champ, avec la ferme intention de les remettre en place après le passage du train. Une opération de sauvetage patrimonial, en quelque sorte.
Mais la propriétaire des lieux ne partageait manifestement pas cette vision artistique des choses. Malgré les supplications insistantes du groupe, elle entreprit aussitôt de rapatrier ses précieuses poubelles à leur emplacement d’origine, en plein dans le cadrage.
Le train approchait. Elle eut juste le temps de replacer les deux jaunes ; la troisième, la noire, resta en transit, tractée à la hâte par sa propriétaire en pyjama, stoppée net par l’arrivée de la locomotive.
Résultat : la scène du passage du train comprenait à gauche une dame en pyjama tirant sa poubelle noire, et à droite deux imposants monuments en plastique jaune du plus bel effet contemporain.
Heureusement, j’avais eu la bonne idée de prendre une photo d’essai avant le passage du train. Sur mon image, vous ne verrez donc ni la dame aux poubelles, ni ses fidèles accessoires modernes.
Mais si vous insistez vraiment… je peux aussi vous montrer l’original.

A bin story
This was a charter train – or “photo train” – hired and funded by photographers and videographers who pool their money to enjoy some runs with an authentic-looking train on a line that has remained almost frozen in time for decades.
That day, quite a large group had gathered at this level crossing to wait for the train to pass. But one detail was seriously disturbing this historical reconstruction: three dreadful modern plastic rubbish bins, two yellow and one black, stood proudly right in front of the house, beside the track.
Naturally, they were quickly exiled to the left, out of frame, with the firm intention of putting them back after the train had passed. A small act of heritage preservation, in a way.
But the owner of the house clearly did not share this artistic vision. Despite the group’s increasingly desperate pleas, she immediately set about returning her precious bins to their rightful place, right in the middle of everyone’s carefully composed shot.
The train was approaching. She only had time to restore the two yellow ones; the third, the black bin, remained in transit, hastily dragged along by its owner in pyjamas, brought to an abrupt halt by the arrival of the locomotive.
As a result, the train scene included, on the left, a lady in pyjamas pulling her black bin, and on the right, two imposing yellow plastic monuments representing the very finest of contemporary aesthetics.
Fortunately, I had the good sense to take a test shot before the train arrived. So, in my picture, you will see neither the lady with the bins nor her faithful modern accessories.
But if you really insist… I can also show you the original.

The unit with X 97054 and an unkown X 9700 rides along the GUlf of Calvi as Tramway de Balagne to L’Île-Rousse. The train will shortly arrive at Ghjorghju. This is a station with only serves a beach with no road access.

Un classique le RER A, surtout la branche de Marne la Vallée - Chessy et son célèbre parc Disneyland et comme le veux la tradition, une chasse aux MI2N Alteo à la livrée IDF, était obligatoire!
Le 23 Mars, malgré le gros voile, fût riche vu que j'ai eu trois UM2 dont celle-là, 100% IDFM, composé des rames 1553/54 et 1537/38 sur une mission ZUPE 91 à destination de Saint Germain en Laye et s'apprête à griller la fameuse zone d'activité et commerciale de Val d'Europe.
Une livrée qui sera la norme et remplacera progressivement la livrée IDF bleu, blanc, rouge que j'aime tant, quelle tristesse mais bon, faut faire avec.

The RER A is a classic, especially the Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy branch with its famous Disneyland park, and as tradition dictates, a hunt for the IDF-liveried MI2N Alteo trains was a must!
On 23 March, despite the thick haze, it was a fruitful day as I spotted three UM2s, including this one, 100% IDFM, comprising trainsets 1553/54 and 1537/38 on a ZUPE 91 service bound for Saint-Germain-en-Laye, about to pass through the famous Val d’Europe business and commercial district.
A livery that will become the standard and will gradually replace the blue, white and red IDF livery that I love so much – how sad, but well, we’ll just have to get on with it.

Binnenkort ga ik weer op bezoek bij "Molli", de smalspoorlijn van Bad Doberan naar Bad Kühlungsborn. Hopelijk vriest het dan en liggen er bergen sneeuw ...... :-) hetgeen in schril contrast zou staan met mijn eerste bezoek in de zomer van 1988. Toen was de lijn nog onderdeel van de staatsspoorwegen in de DDR, de Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR). Beroemd is het lijntje vanwege het spoortraject door de straten van Bad Doberan ("Ortsdurchfahrt"). De Trabantjes e.d. zullen er nu niet meer zijn. Een vorige opname van dezelfde dag is hieronder aangehecht in het eerste commentaar.
Within soon I will visit again the narrow-gauge railway "Molli" between Bad Doberan and Bad Kühlungsborn and I hope for severe winter weather, which will be in contrast to my first visit during summer 1988. At that time the line was still part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR). Famous was/is the track through the streets of Bad Doberan where this picture was taken. A previous picture of the same day is attached in the first comment below.

One that would make Bob Ross proud. CN's daily Toronto-Halifax box train accelerates out of Sainte-Rosalie behind a pair of newer toasters. Consist : CN 3854, CN 3006.
The eighth wonder of the world really is AC traction. A heavy loaded potash train bound for New Brunswich grinds through the crossovers at Montbec on a beautiful first day of spring 2021.
What makes a photo location a good one? Among my criteria are a nice landscape as back- or foreground, no clutter like communication masts or fences, and "peace and quiet". You don't see the last criterium on the photo, but it makes the waiting nice. Add a little sunshine and some interesting trains, and I may be tempted to stick around for a while... even though I prefer to see as large a number of places as possible on a photoday.
After the unsuccesfull tries around Bezpravi, I couldn't resist the temptation to stick around for a while at Ceska Trebova. It was a quiet place to sit, and train traffic was very busy.

On a misty winter evening, HSL Belgium hauls a train of brand new cars from Zeebrugge towards Magdeburg. For this picture I had a hard time keeping the camera lens free of moist. I had to warm it up in the car until right before the train came to prevent it from fogging. High atmospheric moisture on the cold lens surface risked to totally blur out the resulting pictures.

Petit souvenir d'il y a 7 ans, au début du mois de Février de l'année 2019, le soleil était présent avec de légers voiles et bien évidemment, la gare de Marolles en Hurepoix est toujours aussi pratique pour les ciculations en direction de la province.
Passage furtif de la BB 22366 Infra, amenant la BB 75057 FRET et des wagons de matériaux pour Saint pierre des Corp depuis le traige de Trappes.
Aujourd'hui, ce sont les BB 27300 ex Transilien qui s"en occupent majoritairement.

Good morning!
A little memory from seven years ago, at the beginning of February 2019, the sun was shining with a few light clouds, and of course, Marolles en Hurepoix station is still as convenient as ever for travel to the provinces.
A fleeting glimpse of BB 22366 Infra, bringing BB 75057 FRET and wagons of materials for Saint Pierre des Corps from the Trappes yard.
Today, it is mainly the BB 27300 ex Transilien that takes care of this.

A bit of looking around usually does the trick. Shot from almost the same location, with a tele instead of a wide angle lens, this view is something quite different compared to the previous photo. I prefer this one, by far: it reduces the train more to it's real size compared to the giant mountain in the background.
Look closely and you'll see that the locomotive still carries original headlights.
