L'ABe 2/6 633 "La Gruère" di CJ sta per raggiungere la fermata di Le Pied-d'Or per poi prosegue il suo viaggio verso Le Noirmont come R 37 154 (Tavannes - Le Noirmont). Le Chemins de fer du Jura dispongono dal 2001 di quattro GTW di produzione Stadler... nonostante l'arrivo di sei nuovi elettrotreni, sempre realizzati da Stadler, i vecchi GTW prestano ancora servizio, ma verranno venduti nei prossimi anni.

Others go for smaller things - our club bought finally this small steam locomotive. It came the highway on a heavy loader.
Built in 1890 for one of the predecessors of SBB, it looks like a "Tigerli" but is it not as being built before the SBB built "Tigerli".
It is now again under the protective roof of our bridge, and might move into the shed, when we find some room.
It looks pretty cumbersome, but seems to be still in a fair state.
Next stop were 2 bridges near Sidi Harazem. In the meanwhile, a friendly station master had informed us about expected freight traffic. The waiting was long, though, and the stench of a deceased cow in the mid-day heat was hard to bear. A passenger train to Meknes could only distract us shortly.

Lo scorso 24 maggio la bellissima GDe 4/4 6002 MOB "Rossinière", poi "Isabelle von Siebenthal" (SLM, BBC, 1983) è stata incaricata di trasferire la vettura Bp 235 di GFM Historique (costruita nel 1903 per CEG) da Montbovon a Chamby. La vettura è stata temporaneamente ospitata presso la Ferrovia Museo Blonay - Chamby.
In het Zwitserse kanton Appenzell ligt de plaats Appenzell met spoorlijnen van de Appenzeller Bahnen. Op de metersporige lijn Appenzell - St.Gallen - Trogen rijden Tango-trams van Stadler uit 2018. Tramstel 4010-4110 passeert over het Sitterviadukt (SGA) in Appenzell.

An unkown AMG 800 of the Corsican Railway crosses a creek next to the Corsican university town Corte.
A short Chemin de fer Sartigan train led by a pair of MLW products rumbles south through Breakeyville on its return trip from CN's Joffre yard to Scott, QC. The Sartigan was created in 2013 to operate freight service on former CP track now owned and maintained by the Province of Québec. They have been steadily growing their customer base, which is mainly centered around the town of Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, QC, and roster four operational MLW units. Consist : CFS 2047, CFS 8033.

Op 8 februari 2021 - de dag na die van de KNMI-code rood - werd mondjesmaat de treindienst weer opgestart. Op deze locatie tussen Schiedam en Delft was een halve minuut eerder nog helder zicht op de horizon. De elektrische treinstellen trokken rijdend echter een wolk van stuifsneeuw met zich mee, als ware het stoomtreinen. Twee elkaar passerende sprinters - met links SGMm 2950 - maken dan het beeld van een barre winterdag op het spoor compleet.
The day after all Dutch train services were cancelled due to the weather conditions, a few local trains were put in service again on the 8th of february 2021. EMU 2950 of class SGMm is almost hidden by drifting snow of a passing train between Schiedam and Delft.

The Small 1'C machines with two super heated cylinders was one of the first standardised machines of the then new SBB.
1367 is the only survivor and duly maintained at Brugg.
CP's Brownville-Montréal manifest is rolling through Farnham on the Adirondack subdivision mainline. CP has recently reorganized the Adirondack and Sherbrooke subdivisions to remove the cautionary limits in Farnham and allow trains to cross town at track speed. Consist : CP 6308, CP 6024, CP 6258.
After waiting for VIA 22 to pass ahead of it at Montbec, a grain train bound for Québec City rolls east through Sainte-Rosalie behind a pair of newer GE's. Consist : CN 3045, CN 3826, CN 3890 (rear DP).
A jump back into the archives. On November 5th, 1999, TUC RAIL organized stabilizing runs on the new Hammerbrücke. For the occasion 3 recently stored class 18 locomotives enclosed between 2 class 55 diesel engines were used.

On Sateruday afternoon, Crossrail picks up a container train at the Kluizendok terminal in the port of Ghent. The train is headed to Mortara, and on the Belgian leg of the journey it is hauled by a class 66 locomotive.
On October 16th I took my daughter and son on a photo afternoon. While the little boy was sleeping and the little girl was drawing, I could make a photo of the Mortara shuttle that has just left the Kluizendok terminal.

Majestueus is het hoofdstation van Amsterdam. Met recht behoort het tussen 1881 en 1889 gebouwde station tot één van de fraaiste van Europa. Onder de door L.J. Eijmer ontworpen kap staat een minstens zo majestueuze locomotief. De uit 1952 stammende locomotief maakte destijds deel uit van de serie 1200 van de Nederlandse Spoorwegen. Samen met de Duitse locomotieven ‘baureihe 103’ behoort de serie 1200 tot één van de fraaiste locomotiefseries van Europa.
Het is 11 december 2013, kwart over acht in de avond. EETC-locomotief 1254 heeft zojuist de rijtuigen aangebracht die bestemd zijn voor de nachttrein naar München. Als Citynightline 419 (“Pollux”) zal de trein om 20.31 uur vanaf Amsterdam Centraal vertrekken.
EETC staat voor Euro-Express Treincharter. EETC is in 1996 opgericht en organiseerde aanvankelijk wintersportreizen per trein naar Oostenrijk. In 2003 en 2004 nam EETC een groot aantal rijtuigen over van NS Internationaal. Daarmee veranderde het bedrijf van een touroperator in een vervoerder met een eigen materieelpark. Op 1 juli 2010 werd EETC een zelfstandig spoorvervoerder. Vanaf dat moment verzorgde EETC met vier gehuurde locomotieven van de serie 1200 onder andere de aan- en afvoer van de rijtuigen voor de nachtreinen van DB AutoZug tussen Amsterdam Centraal en het opstelterrein Watergraafsmeer. Daarnaast werden de locomotieven ingezet voor uitwisselingsritten en conditieritten met rijtuigen en de autowagons voor de autoslaaptrein. Met ingang van 14 december 2013 is NS Reizigers zelf de treinen tussen Watergraafsmeer en Amsterdam Centraal gaan rijden, vandaar dat drie dagen daarvoor de gelegenheid te baat werd genomen voor het maken van de bijgaande foto.
Wat EETC betreft: sinds december 2013 is EETC ook zelf haar treinen gaan rijden. Op 15 april 2015 heeft EETC haar activiteiten per direct te beëindigd.

The Steam car CZm 1/2 was built in 1902 for a private railway company, but quickly moved to the SBB property. But the SBB had no use for such a small vehicle, so they sold it to the Uetikon-Bauma-Bahn (UeBB).
In sostituzione di qualche Flirt ETR 170, gli ATR venostani effettuano occasionalmente anche dei treni su RFI, sia sulla ferrovia Merano - Bolzano, sia sulla linea del Brennero. Lo scorso 26 ottobre, ad esempio, gli ATR 100 008 e 003 hanno espletato il Regionale 16010 (Merano - Bolzano). La foto è stata scattata nei pressi di Ponte d'Adige / Sigmundskron, alle porte di Bolzano.
The High Tatra mountains are hiding behind… equally High clouds. Tough luck, but train traffic was overcompensating. Below a selection of what I saw. Regiojet was expected, PKP Cargo wasn’t. This line was definitely rocking it, making the far trip here all the more worthwhile.

La résurrection de la locomotive 141.R.568, un colosse de fer de 190 tonnes
Elle était laissée à l’abandon, en bout de gare de Schaffhouse. Un Vallorbier, fou de trains, l’a remise sur rails. La 141.R.568, locomotive à vapeur de 1945, ravive aujourd’hui le romantisme ferroviaire
Les Mikado de la série 141 R numéros 1 à 1340 sont des locomotives à vapeur unifiées de la SNCF qui furent largement utilisées pour tous services sur l'ensemble du réseau français de 1945 à 1974.
Construites en Amérique du Nord en deux séries (1 à 700 et 701 à 1340) suivant un modèle inédit en France, utilisées partout et pour toutes les tâches et besoins ferroviaires, elles sont intimement liées au renouveau du réseau ferré français d'après-guerre ainsi qu'à la fin de la traction à vapeur en France.
Neuf machines de cette série emblématique sont aujourd'hui préservées en France (dont cinq protégées au titre des monuments historiques) et en Suisse.

Last weekend, train traffic between Gent and Brugge was rerouted via Deinze due to infrastructure works. A good opportunity to see some unusual trains near home.
Before sunrise I was out in Astene, waiting for a BLS Cargo train to Zeebrugge. It was hauled by a diesel loco. That was worth the effort to get out of bed early on the weekend!
