East of Settat the railway line curves around the hills and a Holcim plant, with plenty of photo opportunities. We didn't have to wait long for this loaded phosphate train heading towards one of the ports on the Atlantic coast.

Souvenir d'Août 2019 où les Corails du nord étaient encore bien présentes sur l'axe Paris > Amiens, St Quentin et Maubeuge.
Voici le passage de la BB 22237 Grise en tête de huit voitures pour Amiens depuis Paris Nord, sur le TER HdF n°2013.
L'ensemble est vu dans le connu coin de Louvres dans le Val d'Oise une quinzaine de minutes après son départ, sous un ciel mitigé.
Aujourd'hui ce sont les R2N qui gèrent toutes les relations citées depuis environs 3 ans maintenant.

A look back at August 2019, when the Corail du Nord trains were still a common sight on the Paris–Amiens, St Quentin and Maubeuge route.
Here is the Grey BB 22237 leading a eight-carriage train to Amiens from Paris Nord, on TER HdF service no. 2013.
The train is seen in the well-known Louvres area in the Val d’Oise, about fifteen minutes after its departure, under mixed skies.
Today, it is the R2N trains that have been operating all the aforementioned services for around three years now.

Direction Le Creusot avec du soleil pour ces deux magnifiques stars du réseau ferré français des années 70.
En ce 22 avril des plus estivale, passage à faible allure, à la sortie de Vernou-sur-Seine (77), non loin Montereau, de la belle CC 72084, pas vraiment fraîche mais toujours aussi imposante, acheminant la rame PSE n°16 en livrée mixte, détentrice de l'ancien record du monde d'environ plus de 380 km/h en février 1981, depuis le triage de VSG jusqu'à Laroche Migennes où le convoi repartira quelques jours plus tard avec la CC 72064 de l' ARCET jusqu'à sa destination finale citée plus tôt dans la description.
A noter que pour des raisons personnelles et financières, je n'ai pas pu venir sur la deuxième partie avec l'autre 72000, mais qu'importe, l'importance c'est de l'avoir eu pas vrai donc, bravo à l'équipe!

Heading for Le Creusot in sunny weather with these two magnificent stars of the French rail network from the 1970s.
On this most summery of 22nd Aprils, a slow-speed passage just outside Vernou-sur-Seine (77), not far from Montereau, of the beautiful CC 72084, not exactly in its prime but still as imposing as ever, hauling PSE train no. 16 in mixed livery, holder of the former world record of over 380 km/h set in February 1981, from the VSG marshalling yard to Laroche Migennes, where the train would set off again a few days later with the ARCET CC 72064 to its final destination mentioned earlier in the description.
It should be noted that for personal and financial reasons, I was unable to make it for the second part with the other 72000, but never mind, the important thing is that we got it, didn’t we? So, well done to the team!

Après avoir enfin chopper la CC 72084 avec la rame PSE 16, je suis parti sur la ligne de Crépy en Valois pour du FRET et en voici un.
Passage en mode furtif de la BB 27012 M, bien propre, en tête de l'Hexafret Somain / Le Bourget triage, composé essentiellement de wagons céréaliers.
L'ensemble est vu traversant les champs bien vert à gauche et de colza encore présents à droite, au niveau du célèbre coin de Juilly en Seine et Marne avec son iconique passage à niveau et bien évidemment, un ciel dégagé.

Good evening!
After finally managing to snap a shot of CC 72084 hauling the PSE 16 train, I headed out to the Crépy-en-Valois line for some freight shots, and here’s one of them.
A quick glimpse of the immaculate BB 27012 M, leading the Hexafret Somain / Le Bourget marshalling yard, consisting mainly of grain wagons.
The train is seen passing through the lush green fields on the left and rapeseed fields still in bloom on the right, near the famous corner of Juilly in Seine-et-Marne with its iconic level crossing and, of course, a clear sky.

The fun wasn't over yet. Following the blue sky, I ended up in Breyell on the Venlo - Kaldenkirchen route.
A bit unexpected this grey train came out of the colourful forest. I had to aim fast to capture Rail Force One's 2019 304 that was heading train 44793 connecting Maasvlakte to Duisburg-Wedau.

Le 24 novembre d'il y a plus de trois ans maintenant, était le meilleur moment pour profiter des TGV THALYS de type PBA (Réseau) et les PBKA.
Ici sont vues, à pleine vitesse, dans le deuxième coin, peu connu de Ver-sur-Launette, situé dans l'Oise les rames 4537 et 4307 en direction de Paris Nord depuis Amsterdam Central, sous un beau couché de soleil.
Aujourd'hui la compagnie THALYS a disparu et l'ensemble des services furent reprises par Eurostar, ce qui rend cette prise de vue d'avantage nostalgique, après plus de 26 ans d'activités.

On 24 November, more than three years ago now, was the best time to enjoy the PBA (Réseaux) and PBKA THALYS high-speed trains.
Here we see trains 4537 and 4307 travelling at full speed in the second corner, a little-known spot in Ver-sur-Launette, located in the Oise region, heading towards Paris Nord from Amsterdam Central under a beautiful sunset.
Today, the THALYS company has disappeared and all services have been taken over by Eurostar, which makes this shot even more nostalgic after more than 26 years of operation.

Direction la casse pour ces deux rames de type VR2N de TER Hauts de France après des dizaines d'années de bon et loyaux services sur les liaisons Lille > Amiens et compagnie.
C'est dans la commune de Saint Ay dans le Loiret, sur la ligne Orléans > Tours avec bien sûr du soleil, qu'est vu le convoi mené par la BB 67413 EV, accompagnée de sa petite sœur la 67522 encore en livrée Arzens, depuis le triage des Aubrais jusqu'à Saintes, le site démolition pour ce type de rames.
A noter le travail de fou que j'ai effectué sur cette photo qui, au départ, était vraiment pas folle car quasiment dans l'axe.

Good morning!
These two VR2N-type trainsets from TER Hauts-de-France are headed for the scrapyard after decades of loyal service on the Lille–Amiens route and others.
It was in the town of Saint Ay in the Loiret, on the Orléans–Tours line – with sunshine, of course – that the convoy was spotted, led by BB 67413 EV, accompanied by its little sister 67522, still in Arzens livery, travelling from the Aubrais marshalling yard to Saintes, the scrapping site for this type of train.
Note the crazy amount of work I put into this photo, which, to begin with, wasn’t great at all as it was almost perfectly straight on.

Toujours en région Bourgogne, on enchaine avec la BB 27012 HF M (apte aux caténaires Midi), accompagné par la BB 26121 de la même enseigne, en véhicule, en tête du classique hexafret n°489625 Gevrey triage > Sibelin composé ce jour là, uniquement de wagons citernes.
Le train est vu à la sortie du village de Comblanchien, non loin de Beaune, sous un magnifique soleil couchant.
Ce dernier clôturera ma session de spot dans dans la zone et de ce fait, s'ajoutera à mon énorme tableau de chasse.

Still in the Burgundy region, we move on to the BB 27012 HF M (suitable for Midi overhead lines), accompanied by the BB 26121 from the same company, as the leading vehicle of the classic Hexafret No. 489625 Gevrey marshalling yard > Sibelin service, which on that day consisted solely of tank wagons.
The train is seen leaving the village of Comblanchien, not far from Beaune, under a magnificent setting sun.
This will bring my spot-watching session in the area to a close and, as such, will be added to my impressive haul.

Today I did something that I haven't done in a long time: take a day off to make photos of passenger trains. Passenger. Trains. Really.
The intercity trains between Schaarbeek and Kortrijk are still hauled by vintage 21 and 27 series locomotives. These machines are about my age and as such I've known them all my active railfanning life. They are being gradually withdrawn though, and this realizing was one of the factors deciding to spend a day chasing them. Another important factor being that I had found a lot of nice spot between Oudenaarde and Zottegem during my bicyle rides, but I didn't make photos there yet.
With the locomotives oriented on the Kortrijk-side of the trains, they would only show a sunny face in the afternoon. The morning I spent picturing 2 freight trains on locations I wanted to try out for a while.

Con l'imminente arrivo dei 4 tram M8C-NF ex Heidelberg, che STA ha acquistato da RNV (Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr), l'autunno scorso dovrebbe essere stato l'ultimo per le 3 BDe 4/8 (ex Trogenerbahn, FFA, SWP, BBC, 1975/1977) in servizio sulla ferrovia del Renon. La foto mostra l'unità 23 in arrivo alla fermata di Linzbach lo scorso 7 novembre.

We ended the day along the water in Visé. First a couple of trains, then a beer on the waterfront with friends.

What is now a classic view may be over sooner than later. The 21 series locomotives are being phased out, just like the M4 coaches. They are now primarily used on rush hour trains, just like the 22 series locomotives with their M2 coaches a couple of years ago. They may seem unintersting now, but we’ll look at the pictures with nostalgic feelings once the rail scene has been taken over by M6, M7 and desiro trains.

De VIRM-stellen 9518+8621 komen vanaf Hoofddorp Opstelterrein aangereden, onderweg naar Schiphol. De machinist was vergeten om de sluitseinen uit te doen en de frontseinen aan. Met gebaren kon ik hem / haar dat duidelijk maken.

First time along line 24, back in 2000. My parents had rented a vacation home near Sint-Martens-Voeren. From the house we could hear the mighty diesel engines crawl up the hill between Visé and Montzen.
With my mom's vintage film camera I spent quite a few hours along the tracks. This brings back good memories, more than 20 years later.

Le 10 Mars fût un jour des plus classiques avec un petit spotting rapide, sur le PO, pour chopper l'omnibus en Corail de l'heure creuse.
C'est alors la belle et vielle BB 7218 En Voyage (plus vieille des 7200 encore en service), en tête de ce fameux TER n°860587,Paris Austerlitz / Orléans, à l(heure avec comme à son habitude, cinq voitures Corails Rémi dons une sans le bandeau de l'exploitant, située en deuxième position.
L'ensemble est vu, traversant à vitesse moyenne, dans la commune de Sainte Geneviève des Bois dans l'Essonne, avec comme décore, un aspect assez vintage des années 80 avec les poteaux caténaires encore bien rouge de l'époque, menacés par la modernité, sous un ciel bien menaçant et coup de bol, une éclaircie est passée au bon moment.

10 March was a typical day, with a quick spot on the PO line to catch the off-peak Corail commuter train.
There it was, the beautiful old BB 7218 En Voyage (the oldest of the 7200 series still in service), at the head of the famous TER No. 860587, Paris Austerlitz / Orléans, running on time as usual, with five Corail Rémi carriages, one of which was without the operator’s banner, positioned in second place.
The train is seen here travelling at moderate speed through the town of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois in Essonne, against a backdrop that has a rather vintage 1980s feel, with the catenary poles still a bright red from that era – now under threat from modernisation – beneath a very threatening sky. As luck would have it, a break in the clouds appeared just at the right moment.

Retour à la fin du mois Mars de l'année dernière, sur le PO pour profiter du beau temps et de la circulation.
Passage à Marolles en Hurepoix de la BB 7218 EV en tête d'une petite rame Corail de 5 voitures pour Orléans depuis Paris Austerlitz, sur le TER n°860589, sous un soleil printanier.
Le dernier bastion de Corails TER en IDF, plus particulièrement, avec du nez cassé, disparaitra d'ici 2027 donc, faut en profiter un maximum.

Back at the end of March last year, on the PO to enjoy the good weather and traffic.
Passage through Marolles en Hurepoix of BB 7218 EV at the head of a small 5-car Corail train to Orléans from Paris Austerlitz, on TER no. 860589, under a spring sun.
The last bastion of Corail TER trains in the Paris region, more specifically, with its broken nose locomotive, will disappear by 2027, so we must make the most of it.

Il 27 gennaio 2026, l'E464 278 e 5 vetture MD hanno espletato il Regionale 17154 Merano - Brennero; la foto mostra il treno in arrivo alla stazione di Lana-Postal.

Meer "landschap met trein" dan "trein in landschap" maar hier mag dat wel. Dat 'hier' is langs de Rijn in Sankt Goar - gezien vanaf burcht Rheinfels - vlakbij de Loreley. Het veer achterin het beeld steekt over de Rijn naar St. Goarshausen. Personentreinen getrokken door een locomotief worden steeds meer vervangen door treinstellen maar hier rijdt IC 2012 Oberstdorf - Dortmund nog met een locomotief van de 101-serie van de Deutsche Bahn (DB).
More "landscape with train" than "train in landscape" but here it is allowed. That "here" is along the Rhine in Sankt Goar - seen from Rheinfels Castle - near the Loreley. The ferry at the background of the image crosses the Rhine to St Goarshausen. Passenger trains pulled by a locomotive are more and more being replaced by trainsets but here the IC 2012 Oberstdorf - Dortmund still runs with a Deutsche Bahn (DB) locomotive of class 101 (no. 001 - 145 built by Adtranz 1995-1999).
