Salarymen on the Yamanote line (the reason for this shot was actually trying to figure out if my camera had survived a bang it had just gotten - thankfully it had).
Op 1 oktober 2016 werd in Maassluis de Furieade gehouden: een groot feest naar aanleiding van het 100 jarige bestaan van de s.s. Furie, de laatste door stoom aangedreven zeesleepboot in Nederland. De Stoom Stichting Nederland (SSN) reed hiervoor extra stoomtreinritten Rotterdam - Maassluis - Hoek van Holland met de indrukwekkende stoomloc 01 1075 (oorspronkelijk gebouwd voor de Duitse spoorwegen door Schwartzkopf in 1940). Dit is mogelijk ook een van de laaste stoomtreinritten geweest op dit traject aangezien de Hoekse' spoorlijn wordt omgebouwd tot metrolijn. Vertrokken van huis met nog zware bewolking brak hier net aangekomen precies op tijd de zon door, lagen de bootjes mooi in beeld en werd een aardig stoompluimpje geproduceerd ..... er zijn dagen dat het maken van de vooraf gewenste foto meer moeite kost :-)
Due to the the celebrations of the 100 years old steamship Furie at Maassluis, The Netherlands extra steam trains were running on the branch line from Rotterdam to Hoek van Holland. Probably one of the last steam trains here as the railway line is becoming part of the light rail network of Rotterdam. The pacific steam locomotive 01 1075 of Stoom Stichting Nederland (SSN) was originally built for the German railways by Schwartzkopf in 1940. The locomotive is spotted at the railway bridge in the harbour of Maassluis - a small spot without wires on this electrified railroad.

Test d'un nouveau coin avec bien sûr, une douce et belle lumière d'été, dans la commune de Sainte Geneviève des Bois, dans l'Essonne, pour les Corails omnibus de chez TER Centre.
La fin étant proche pour ces derniers sur l'axe PAZ / Orléans, je me dois d'être créatif.
Alors j'improvise et pour mon plus grand plaisir, c'est la belle BB 7206 EV qui ouvre les hostilités, avec derrière elle, pas moins de 5 voitures Corails Rémi sur le TER n°860591 pour Orléans, rentrant ainsi quasi parfaitement dans le cadre avec les célèbre poteaux caténaires à l'ancienne et en voie de disparition dans ce même processus.
Apparemment, c'est prévu pour juillet leurs radiations mais cela reste à confirmer donc, affaire à suivre.

Testing out a new spot – with, of course, the soft, beautiful summer light – in the town of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, in the Essonne department, for the TER Centre’s Corail commuter trains.
As their days on the PAZ–Orléans route are drawing to a close, I have to get creative.
So I’m improvising and, much to my delight, it’s the lovely BB 7206 EV that kicks things off, with no fewer than five Corails Rémi carriages behind her on TER train no. 860591 bound for Orléans, fitting almost perfectly into the frame alongside the famous old-style catenary poles – which are themselves on the verge of disappearing as part of this very process.
Apparently, they’re due to be taken out of service in July, but this remains to be confirmed, so watch this space.

En milieu d’après-midi du 10 Juillet dernier, un convoi de l’infra descend de Portes-lès-Valence avec les BB 67627 et 67433 en tête. Ce dernier est à destination de La Seyne sur Mer pour approvisionner de futurs travaux sur la ligne azuréenne.

Le 10 Mars fût un jour des plus classiques avec un petit spotting rapide, sur le PO, pour chopper l'omnibus en Corail de l'heure creuse.
C'est alors la belle et vielle BB 7218 En Voyage (plus vieille des 7200 encore en service), en tête de ce fameux TER n°860587,Paris Austerlitz / Orléans, à l(heure avec comme à son habitude, cinq voitures Corails Rémi dons une sans le bandeau de l'exploitant, située en deuxième position.
L'ensemble est vu, traversant à vitesse moyenne, dans la commune de Sainte Geneviève des Bois dans l'Essonne, avec comme décore, un aspect assez vintage des années 80 avec les poteaux caténaires encore bien rouge de l'époque, menacés par la modernité, sous un ciel bien menaçant et coup de bol, une éclaircie est passée au bon moment.

10 March was a typical day, with a quick spot on the PO line to catch the off-peak Corail commuter train.
There it was, the beautiful old BB 7218 En Voyage (the oldest of the 7200 series still in service), at the head of the famous TER No. 860587, Paris Austerlitz / Orléans, running on time as usual, with five Corail Rémi carriages, one of which was without the operator’s banner, positioned in second place.
The train is seen here travelling at moderate speed through the town of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois in Essonne, against a backdrop that has a rather vintage 1980s feel, with the catenary poles still a bright red from that era – now under threat from modernisation – beneath a very threatening sky. As luck would have it, a break in the clouds appeared just at the right moment.

Near the former Saint-Hilaire station in Huy, a pretty little annex is falling into ruin.
I find its architectural quality far superior to that of the stations in Mons or Liège...
Aux abords de l'ancienne gare Saint-Hilaire à Huy, une jolie petite annexe tombe en ruine.
Je lui trouve une qualité architecturale bien supérieure aux gares de Mons ou Liège...

Retour en fin 2025 dans la LGV nord pour quelques tgv intéressants et bien sûr, ce fût vraiment divertissant, plus particulièrement celui du cliché :).
Passage en fanfare du TGV TMST e300 n°3222, en direction de Paris Nord depuis Londres St Pancras sous le train n°9022.
L'ensemble est vu entre Ver sur Launette dans l'Oise et Othis en IDF, sous un magnifique soleil hivernal et déclinant.

Back on the Northern High-Speed Line at the end of 2025 for a few interesting TGVs – and of course, it was great fun, especially the one in the photo :).
A spectacular pass by TGV TMST e300 no. 3222, heading for Paris Nord from London St Pancras, beneath train no. 9022.
The whole scene was captured between Ver-sur-Launette in the Oise and Othis in the ÃŽle-de-France region, under a magnificent, fading winter sun.

The valley west of Tarvisio towards Gemona Del Friuli is very beautiful. The rail line mainly runs through tunnels though, so my visit was rather short as rail happened to be the purpose of my visit.
In Pontebba however the line surfaces, and I found a nice location south of the station. In my best Italian I asked a railway employee if I could stand on the railway property - which he promptly allowed! Grazie, Duolingo!
Then the waiting for a freight train begun. I stood here long time until I eventually found out that there were works going on. The end of the work window was near so I waited just a little bit longer to get a photo of 2 passenger trains, one of them being the FUC train towards Udine.

Journée presque banale ce premier jour du mois de Juin sur la L1 avec un classico spot à Changis sur Marne pour d'éventuelles circulations, malgré ce temps un peu mitigé.
Parmi les FRET croisés, celui-ci a retenu mon attention car, si de prima bord , ce train de marchandises, de chez Captrain France, ressemble au classique Massy / Gudmont, il n'en est rien.
Voici alors le MA100 CIV (Carrières d'Isles les Villenoy) / Gudmont en SDM (sillon de dernière minute), menée par la belle et propre Euro 4053, encore en livrée VFLI.

Good morning / good evening!
It was an almost uneventful day on the L1 on this first day of June, with a classic spot at Changis-sur-Marne for any passing trains, despite the rather mixed weather.
Among the freight trains I came across, this one caught my eye because, although at first glance this Captrain France freight train resembles the classic Massy–Gudmont service, that is not the case.
So here is the MA100 CIV (Carrières d'Isles les Villenoy) / Gudmont on an SDM (last-minute slot), hauled by the beautiful and immaculate Euro 4053, still in VFLI livery.
