Since the timetable change in December '25, the daily petrol train from Antwerp has shifted traction provider. Medway is in charge now and uses Vectron locomotives to haul the heavy train towards Germany.
It is not unlikely to catch some colorful traction as Medway uses yellow, red and blue units. On one of the first sunny days of the year, I caught their own yellow 7193 002 and Beacon sister 6193 043. Shining bright in the sunlight, it was a pleasure to see.

During the commute home, I had noticed a couple of times a train pulled by an SNCF TRAXX in the early evening. With the days getting longer, a few photo opportunities presented.
We see a coal train coming from the direction of Gent, towards France. The rail line is starting a big S-curve here, that will end up in Gent-Sint-Pieters station. A really long time ago, the line would run straight, in the alignment of the street that can be seen on the right. It would finally end up in Gent-Zuid station. Today the railway bed has been revived by a bicycle highway – a very convenient and fast way to Gent, I must say. Along the highway, if you look well, you can still find some relics of the old line.

Au départ de Sotteville, les deux BB 67400, accompagnées d'une BB 63500, sont vues à l'heure sur la célèbre ligne 1 au niveau de La Ferté sous Jouarre, un des coins de spots les plus connues avec notamment, son active et discrète usine d'engrais sur la prise de vue.
Ce convoi mortuaire, si j'ose dire, alors ici composé de voitures Corails Normandes et de la région centre, propres d'apparence mais toutes radiées après près d'un demi-siècle de bons et loyaux services, a pour destination finale Culmont-Chalindrey pour démolition.
A noter la présence d'une voitures pilote de type B5hux Haute Normandie en queue qui fait partie du voyage.
Pour conclure cette aventure, je tiens à souligné la miraculeuse éclaircie qui a sauvé cette photo car au départ, ce n'était pas gagné.
Dorénavant je ferai d'avantages de textes décrivant les prochaines publications

Departing from Sotteville, the two BB 67400 locomotives, accompanied by a BB 63500 locomotive, are seen on time on the famous Line 1 at La Ferté sous Jouarre, one of the most well-known spots, notably featuring its active and discreet fertiliser factory in the shot.
This funeral procession, if I may say so, consisting of Corail Normande and Centre region carriages, clean in appearance but all decommissioned after nearly half a century of loyal service, is bound for Culmont-Chalindrey for demolition.
Note the presence of a B5hux Haute Normandie pilot carriage at the rear, which is part of the journey.
To conclude this adventure, I would like to highlight the miraculous break in the clouds that saved this photo, because at first, it didn't look promising.
From now on, I will write more texts describing future publications.

From the Ruhr area I had a long drive waiting for me. On the second day of my trip, weather forecasts in South-Eastern Germany were looking good. A perfect occasion to check out the RE2 trains hauled by BR218 locos.
Due to infrastructure works between Schwandorf and Regensburg, trains were limited to the Hof - Schwandorf section of the line. Trains were exceptionally running in push-pull mode due to these works, and only 2 of the 3 needed rakes were operated with BR218 and Dosto coaches. But it was still interesting enough to meet up with Bramtrains to chase some trains.
The day started cloudy and rainy, but that was only for a short time. At 10:22 we caught our first RE2 of the day, being pushed to Hof by 218 406. It is seen here at the southern entrance of Weiden (Oberpfalz), on the junction of the lines to Schwandorf and Nünberg.

It was late and immediately after making this photo I packed my gear and drove home. It was only the next day that I took the time to look at the photos I made. That's when I discovered a strange orange line on the top left of the image.
Was it a plane? No, that would show up as a line of dots and it wouldn't be such a long stripe on a picture with a 0.6 second exposure.
A satellite? No, same reasoning regarding the length of the line.
The only conclusion I could make is that I actually shot a meteor on its way through our atmosphere. That's a first one in my 25+ year photography career.
Oh yeah, there's also a train in the picture. We see Railtraxx' only leftover Traxx, 186 123, hauling a set of blue tankers to Ghent.

Rien de tel que des poses longues à Paris Austerlitz pour s'occuper lorsque qu'il ne fait pas très beau en journée.
Le 19 janvier fût assez riche niveau Nez Cassé avec des remontés de voitures Corails et autres services comme ce train de nuit composés de voitures couchettes au nombre de 7.
Alors en préparation pour effecuer l'intercité de nuit n°5789 à destination de Briançon, la BB 22328 Béton, alors rutilante , était alors prête, à se lancer dans un long périple.
De quoi conclure cette journée avec le smile.

There's nothing like long layovers at Paris Austerlitz to keep yourself busy when the weather isn't great during the day.
19 January was quite a busy day for Nez Cassé, with Corail carriages and other services such as this night train consisting of seven couchette carriages.
In preparation for the night intercity train No. 5789 to Briançon, the BB 22328 Béton, gleaming in the sun, was ready to embark on a long journey.
What a way to end the day with a smile.

Now that we had gotten so close to Hof, why not check out the station and get something to eat.
Dinner venues weren't appealing, unfortunately, but we spent our time shooting the next train to Schwandorf instead. A good choice, as the train was posing under the blue hour evening sky.
After the shoot, Bramtrains headed north while I went south. I scored something to eat along the road and slept at a bad, but cheap, hotel in Passau, preparing for the next episode.

Le 18 octobre dernier fût assez riche niveau circulation sur le PO et le ciel se voila au fur et à mesure que les heures passèrent.
Voici la BB 7242 EV qui ce jour là ,pour mon plus grand plaisir, était orienté du bon côté pour avoir son fameux nez plaqué SNCF (que j'ai retouché pour que cela ressorte bien), en tête de 5 voitures Corails TER.
L'ensemble est vu dans le célèbre coin de Monnerville, assurant l'omnibus V160 n°8860587 Paris Austerlitz > Orléans et s'apprêta à desservir la gare de cette même commune.

Good morning!
18 October was quite a busy day on the PO line, and the sky gradually clouded over as the hours passed.
Here is the BB 7242 EV which, to my great delight, was facing the right way that day to show off its famous SNCF nose (which I have retouched to make it stand out), at the head of five Corail TER carriages.
The train was seen in the famous Monnerville area, operating the V160 omnibus No. 8860587 Paris Austerlitz > Orléans and preparing to serve the station in the same town.

Let's end the series of the phosphate trains with this empty train towards Khouribga. After making the photo, we got to meet the owner of the house we stood next to. His son worked for the railroad, so the connection was quickly made. He invited us to his house, where we enjoyed a delicious couscous dish, that his wife had prepared on the spot. This is hospitatlity I will never forget!

A historic NBiK “Rosentaler Dampfzüge” train moves across the fields of the Rosental valley, cutting through a morning heavy with moisture. Steam from the locomotive blends with the mist drifting among the trees and the clouds gathering over the valley. Steam, mist and clouds — three forms of water suspended in the air — fill the scene and shape the mood of the landscape.
The scene unfolds beneath the shadowy line of the Karawanks, where Austria meets Slovenia.

After a short trip north to work a few clients on a spur off the línea SA near Panzacola, Tlax., a Ferrosur switcher is returning to Puebla with a pair of Dash-7 GE's. Consist : FSRR 14503, FSRR 9618.

Semmering station didn't work out for westbound trains, but the station of Breitenstein turned out to be the better setting. As the gates of the level crossing closed right before me, I left the waiting to the car and made a quick sprint up the hill, right in time to catch this triplet of 1144's with a westbound mixed freight. The train was just long, and slow, enough for me to get back to my car in time and not block traffic in front of the opened level crossing.

From October 20 until 26 I managed to sneak out for a couple of days for some good old railfanning action. Weather forecasts were demotivating, but I decided to try to make the most of it. Letting the weather forecast determine my next destination seemed worth a try. Heading to the unknown was good motivation to eventually head off, after dropping the kids at school. An opening between the clouds would be moving east throughout the day and I decided to follow it, looking for opportunities. Number one was only half an hour from home, as BLS Cargo Nord was heading towards Antwerp withtheir daily Zeebrugge-Antwerp shuttle. On Monday 20/8 it was lead by 475 417. Sun and autumn colors didn't disappoint.

Une archive qui, pour moi, était obligée d'être retravailler et republier sur ce compte étant donné que l'ancien où je l'avais partagé, n'est plus accessible.
Bref, nous somme en Août 2018, il faisait super beau et chaud mais le convoie exceptionnel n'attendait pas donc, je me pointe dans le coin de spot de Citry sur Marne, bien connu des spotteurs et effectivement, il y en avait quelques uns.
Parti avec quelques dizaines de minutes de retard, la voici, la CC 72049 En Voyage, bien rutilante, en tête de plus d'une dizaine de wagons citernes, en provenance du triage des Aubrais pour Châlons en Champagne, afin de servir pour des essais de traction liés à l'Euro Dual, mené par l'Agence d'Essaies Ferroviaires (AEF) d'après mes souvenirs.
Une sacrée archive n'est-ce pas, une 72000 en tête d'un FRET en 2018, c'était clairement osé et franchement, c'est impressionnant!

In short, it was August 2018, the weather was beautiful and hot, but the special convoy wasn't waiting, so I headed to the spot in Citry sur Marne, well known to spotters, and sure enough, there were a few of them there.
Leaving a few dozen minutes late, here it is, the CC 72049 En Voyage, gleaming, at the head of more than a dozen tank wagons, coming from the Aubrais marshalling yard for Châlons en Champagne, to be used for traction tests related to the Euro Dual, conducted by the Agence d'Essais Ferroviaires (AEF) as far as I can remember.
Quite a sight, isn't it, a 72000 at the head of a freight train in 2018. It was clearly a daring move and, frankly, it's impressive!
