Le 5 Juin dernier était la première occasion pour moi de « déconfiner » mon appareil photo qui était bien rangé depuis le mois de Février. Voici donc ce soir un premier cliché de cette période post-confinement avec la BB 26063, dernière survivante de la série en livrée FRET, qui assurait l’habituel train de messagerie reliant Miramas à Avignon, le convoi est vu de passage à l’entrée d’Arles en milieu d’après-midi.

On the way back from our Swiss holiday last year, we had to stop for a picnic. I chose a spot near Frick, where we could sit quietly in the shade and where I could set up my tripod with camera. Armed with a remote and sandwich, I could enjoy a family lunch while also shooting some trains.
The last train we saw was headed by SBB Cargo Shadowpiercer 193 665.

Quoi de mieux que de terminer ce 14 Juin avec cette petite session dans la commune de Pavant, dans l'Aisne et ses belles collines, malgré le voile assez présent et du soleil, parfois timide, mais du soleil quand même
Parmi les FRET attendus, le fameux et régulier train de flottes MA120 n°54004 Woippy / VSG triage, à l'heure, avec à la traction la BB 27107 HF accompagnée de la 27091 en véhicule, avec presque une trentaine de wagons OVS.
D'autres photos viendront donc, patience les gens!

What better way to round off this 14 June than with this little session in the village of Pavant, in the Aisne region with its beautiful rolling hills, despite the fairly thick haze and the sun—sometimes shy, but the sun nonetheless
Among the expected freight trains was the famous and regular MA120 fleet train No. 54004 Woippy / VSG marshalling yard, running on time, hauled by BB 27107 HF accompanied by 27091 as a trailer, with nearly thirty OVS wagons.

There were quite some trains underway towards Germany, so I moved on to Schoppem, a very popular location for eastbound trains before noon. 2 times Lineas, 2 times DB Cargo and 1 time Crossrail assured some variety before moving on to the next spot.

On a cold winter morning, before the sun rises above the horizon, a local train is about to pass under the E17 highway. Getting here with the mountainbike through the fresh snow was a lot of fun.

After arriving in Corsica the previous evening, I waited the next morning between Bodri and L'ÃŽle-Rousse for the first Tramway de Balagne of the holiday. X 97051 and XR 9701, free of extensive graffiti, came around the bend. However, the trainsets varied over the following days.
Trying to get the most out of a day off work, we chased the sun towards the region east of Antwerp. There was little traffic though, and it was about to become a frustrating day.
Here you see DB 186 338 hauling beautiful tank container train 41541 to Germany. The long wait in the wet field (mud till the knees) was rewarded with this banger.

We spent a recent family weekend in the border region near Montzen. On two occasions I got out to make a few photos in Remersdaal: once during daytime, once during nighttime. Both times I got a mixed freight train from Antwerp to Köln headed by a double Traxx engine. And that's where the similarities between the two photos end. 4 different liveries, 2 operators and a totally different atmosphere. Not sure which one I prefer, I enjoyed the "making of" of both as much.
This picture shows DB Cargo Belgium's 186 144 and 186 237 hauling a mixed freight from Antwerp to Köln-Gremberg.
As the first significant snowfall of the 2020-2021 season is covering the landscape, CN's daily Toronto-Halifax stack train is slowing down to crossover to the north track at Montbec and continue on to the Drummondville subdivision. Consist : CN 3278, CN 3062, CN 4711, CN 9547, CN 3893 (mid-train).

Le 13 Juillet dernier fût une session sur LGV Est pour chopper du TGV Réseau.
Parmi les nombreux trains à la bourre, celui-là , le TGV inOui n°12102 Strasbourg / Paris Est, mené par la doyenne de la série des TGV R, la rame 501 Carmillon et bien évidemment, accompagnée de la rame Euroduplex n°4709 Carmillon.
L'ensemble est vu dans le coin champêtre de Lizy sur Ourcq, sous un magnifique soleil estival.

Good morning!
On 13 July, I went out on the LGV Est line to photograph some TGV Réseau trains.
Among the many trains running late was this one, the TGV inOui No. 12102 Strasbourg / Paris Est, led by the oldest member of the TGV R series, the 501 Carmillon set, and, of course, accompanied by the Euroduplex No. 4709 Carmillon set.
The pair can be seen in the rural setting of Lizy-sur-Ourcq, bathed in glorious summer sunshine.

It was late and immediately after making this photo I packed my gear and drove home. It was only the next day that I took the time to look at the photos I made. That's when I discovered a strange orange line on the top left of the image.
Was it a plane? No, that would show up as a line of dots and it wouldn't be such a long stripe on a picture with a 0.6 second exposure.
A satellite? No, same reasoning regarding the length of the line.
The only conclusion I could make is that I actually shot a meteor on its way through our atmosphere. That's a first one in my 25+ year photography career.
Oh yeah, there's also a train in the picture. We see Railtraxx' only leftover Traxx, 186 123, hauling a set of blue tankers to Ghent.

Je devais tester ce coin tôt où tard et quoi de mieux qu'une 7200 Béton sous un magnifique soleil, annonceur du printemps, pour commencer les hostilités.
La BB 7275 et sa rame Corail, composé de 8 caisses, est vue grillant la gare de Gazeran avant de rentrer dans la région centre à destination du Mans, sur le TER n°862523 depuis Paris Montparnasse.
Un rendu bien sympa qui ajoute de la variété sur cette ligne assez riche mine de rien.
A noter que cette compo iconique disparaîtra l'année prochaine donc faut en profiter!

Good morning!
I had to test this area sooner or later, and what better way to start than with a 7200 Béton under a beautiful sun, heralding the arrival of spring.
The BB 7275 and its Corail train, consisting of eight carriages, can be seen speeding through Gazeran station before entering the central region bound for Le Mans, on TER no. 862523 from Paris Montparnasse.
A very nice rendering that adds variety to this line, which is quite rich without seeming so.
Note that this iconic composition will disappear next year, so enjoy it while you can!
