SSN 01 1075 @ Maassluis, 01-10-2016
Op 1 oktober 2016 werd in Maassluis de Furieade gehouden: een groot feest naar aanleiding van het 100 jarige bestaan van de s.s. Furie, de laatste door stoom aangedreven zeesleepboot in Nederland. De Stoom Stichting Nederland (SSN) reed hiervoor extra stoomtreinritten Rotterdam - Maassluis - Hoek van Holland met de indrukwekkende stoomloc 01 1075 (oorspronkelijk gebouwd voor de Duitse spoorwegen door Schwartzkopf in 1940). Dit is mogelijk ook een van de laaste stoomtreinritten geweest op dit traject aangezien de Hoekse' spoorlijn wordt omgebouwd tot metrolijn. Vertrokken van huis met nog zware bewolking brak hier net aangekomen precies op tijd de zon door, lagen de bootjes mooi in beeld en werd een aardig stoompluimpje geproduceerd ..... er zijn dagen dat het maken van de vooraf gewenste foto meer moeite kost :-)
Due to the the celebrations of the 100 years old steamship Furie at Maassluis, The Netherlands extra steam trains were running on the branch line from Rotterdam to Hoek van Holland. Probably one of the last steam trains here as the railway line is becoming part of the light rail network of Rotterdam. The pacific steam locomotive 01 1075 of Stoom Stichting Nederland (SSN) was originally built for the German railways by Schwartzkopf in 1940. The locomotive is spotted at the railway bridge in the harbour of Maassluis - a small spot without wires on this electrified railroad.
