Back to straight repaints for a couple for the McNair Pilkington fleet.
Usual strip down to bare metal with the Eclipse proving to be a particularly awkward model to dismantle, then brush finish using Cherry Paints and Craftmaster enamels.
I repainted Jane today... I feel like my relationship with the Miyu sculpt is very love/hate. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it... but it's always a struggle. I'm happy with the faceup, I like these eyebrows more and I think I finally have the right color over all for her, especially in the lips. However, I had one hell of a time trying to position her darn eyes and I have no idea why! >.<;
Former OM Optare Solo 40334 is seen here after repaint following transfer back to its original depot at QS. During its first spell at QS 40334 work the Metroshuttle routes in Manchester City Centre which replaced the Centreline service. It was in the green Metroshuttle 2 livery.
Still not the best as I think... neither the eyes.
Need to redo again but I'm happy that I improve my DD face-up skill.
But I need more time.... T.T

Lothian 154 now repainted in the staircase livery seen at Stockbridge on a service 36 working to Gyle Centre via Morningside. 18th December 2017.
This repaint went so fast.
I also was able to really build up all the colors.
Only once I had some trouble with her left eye because the msc wouldn't dry at that spot for some reason, so I had to spray a new layer.
The colors photograph really well, because I could really build them up.
Her hair looks like a mess here, hehe, but I fixed that.
More tomorrow!

I got her on sale a couple of weeks back and i was always intrigued by this sculpt- androgynous and strong, which upon arrival , it confirmed all my expectations. the sculpt is surprisingly detailed and easy to work with though quite ginormous lols. She is wearing a leatherette empire gown, with shoulder sculpture details and a filigree headpiece all inspired by Cherlize on Snow White and the Huntsman.

Mulan is my favorite sculpt from the animator's collection, I luv dropping eyes <3
Recently completed bare metal repaint from the OOC Felix Plaxton Paragon.
This one is a combination of spray (black) and brush (gold) finish and an unusual arrangement for transfers seeing a white base transfer for the fleetname provided by John Atwood with a home-made inkjet one applied over to achieve the required colour.
Worked out quite well overall!

Alright! Final steps!
1. I go back in and add detail to the eyebrows, darkening them as well.
2. I paint the color on the lips. Now... with this one, I went for a more 'natural' style... so there are no lip lines... but if you want those tiny little lip lines, I recommend patience, a light touch, painting outward from the center and using a medium amount of retardant... so it's moist, but won't bead.
3. I went back and added more color to the eyeshadow, in light, light layers.
4. And... (and this is the point when I consider the painting done) I added the white dot highlights to the eyes!
OH! I forgot to mention 2 important details!
1. BLUSHING: I blush using pastels I purchased from www.volksusa.com which are designed to be used in giving a doll a faceup. I currently don't seal my blush, because, short of getting it wet, it's harder than heck to get off once you get it on there... and I toted the first Frankie I painted all over the place and her blush never budged.
~To Apply~ I take a small cotton ball and rub it on the stick of pastel... then I rub it directly onto the area of the cheeks that I want the blush to be. Usually it goes on too strong... so I rub it with my thumb until it lightens to where I want it.
2.SEALING: So... you've finished, and you like what you've done... and you kind of want it to stick around... so what next?! Seal it! I use a medium Gloss coating (also made by Liquitex) and coat everything I've painted. Eyes, lips, eyebrows... and any extras (like the fish I painted on Lagoona.
When you are applying the gloss, it's VERY IMPORTANT to get it on in one go. Don't apply the gloss, let it sit a second and then go apply more, or even touch it with your brush. Gloss is very tacky, and dries very quickly, and you will end up ruining your gloss coat and leaving yourself with a lumpy looking doll if you mess around with the gloss after you've laid it.
