First repaint of one of the cat twins! Okay, as a pun-lover I can't tell you how hard I laughed and simultaneously rolled my eyes at their names when I read them the first time. Seriously.

Repaint & Photo : Little Dolls Room
Originally, I only planned to paint Trigon’s base. However, after I put him back on his base he looked odd, his paintjob now also looked plain. I decided to repaint his skin colour. This only made his clothing look plain, so I repainted them as well. It was more painting than I intended to do, but I’m happy with the final result.
Satellite mode.
ROTF Soundwave was a joy of a figure to paint. As is with most of the Transformer movie figures, he contains alot of intricate surface detailing which can only be brought out by a good paint job.
Steps I took are straighforward: black mist, black gloss coat, black silver mix, and finally drybrushing of silver and gold.
This was quite a pleasant repainting exercise.
I've done a few more repaints.
Left: An old Bratz doll. Eyebrows are tricky. (OK fine, all of it is tricky.)
Middle: A Moxie Girlz doll. I dislike the original eyes on those things and I think this is an improvement. I kept the original eyebrows and lips. The eye area is nearly flat on this doll. I like that.
Right: My main problem with this Bratzillaz doll was the exaggerated lips which I replaced with semi-transparent paint and a touch of "interference" green (Golden fluid acrylics)

I haven't done a lot of painting before and I had to look up how to mix black. I've prepared small jars of useful colors: Black, transparent black, a transparent flesh color for the corner of the eye, transparent dark brown for eyebrows, pre-diluted matte gel for transparency.
It's interesting to find out what brushes work. I used to think the only thing I needed were very small round brushes, so I have a few different ones - I might do a review - but I really appreciate a small filbert ("cat's tongue") that I happened to buy at some point.
I'm still not using and primer or topcoats - so no blushing. I was going to avoid airbrushing at all cost... but now I'm not so sure.

Freckles. I forgot freckles. It happens every time!
