I like getting that ... painterly effect in a photo. Which means, slow shutter speed, wide open aperture, and a cloudy day or shady tree.
I like the thrill of seeing it pop up in iPhoto, just as it is.
This is my LPB-1 by Electro-Harmonix. It's "an exact recreation of the original LPB-1 circuit that ushered in the age of overdrive in 1968. Put the LPB-1 in line with any effect to provide boost and definition. Improve the gain and saturation of your amp."
I've used this pedal to boost my signal as I go into a solo to cut through the mix. Also, I've used it to overdrive the preamp of a tube amplifier. However, since it doesn't have a tone or high and low knobs to fine tune the sound, I tend to use it as a signal boost for lead parts. This is a great, straight forward, easy to use pedal. I mean look at it. It has one knob and an on/off switch.
Other gear:
Nikon D40 | 1/500 | 48mm @ Æ’/8 | ISO 200
Lighting:
SB-25, Lumiquest Softbox III @ 1/64 power (few inches above pedal)
Pop-up flash @ 1/32 power (on axis, duh)

meg was heavily involved in these photos, and i'm not exactly sure which ones i took and which ones she took. so bear with me. [unless they're of her, in which case, i definitely took the picture, and you may disregard this, for i suck cocks.]
I always want to try to shoot some infrared photos. However, buying an expensive infrared filter (i.e. Hoya R72) is not quite practical to me. So I tried to play around with photoshop to get the coloured infrared effect as close as I can. And here is the result. I know it's not perfect but I think it's still acceptable.

The ideal is to find things that have rusted naturally, but that’s not always possible. I decided to try a new rust effect product on some items laying around the house, to see what would happen. As you can see this rust effect product works very well on plastic, wood or even glass. Also possible to paint with it. Have a good fun. they say you shouldn't
run from your problems
that may be good advice for some
but it left me feeling like every day
was in some way problematic
I'm an automatic memory maker
good or bad, I choke on both
my mind is a castle where I keep them
and my mouth is the moat
set to sea in a lifelong boat
captained by a dark-eyed prince
who denied his own deliverance
he was the one who whistled whispers
into your misty messages
drawn in by the lighthouse effect
crying at your GPS
till it gets solemn
learning to run
from your
problems

I finally marked white water rafting off of my bucket list last weekend. A group of friends and I rafted along the middle and lower Ocoee River in Tennessee. This is the same river that hosted several kayaking and rafting competitions during the 1996 Summer Olympics...however I don't think I performed 1/10 as well as those Olympians! It was a blast though, and I enjoyed every single second (as you can probably tell..I'm the one in the upper middle that is laughing all of the way...although maybe I was screaming in terror at this point...I can't remember).
We are already planning a second trip where we plan to include the upper Ocoee as well, which has more Class IV's and V's. (this was mainly III's and IV's). Now that I've got one trip under my belt, I'm sure those Class V's will be a breeze! (not!)
If you haven't been, you should definitely check it out! The scenery is gorgeous and the rush is just awesome!

PRECIOSA ORNELA presents the new PRECIOSA Teeâ„¢ pressed bead from the PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beadsâ„¢ brand.
Its dimensions of 2 x 8 mm conform to the current trend in mini-beads. The axially symmetrical flat shape of the letter "T" enables the application of vacuum half-coatings on both sides of the bead with the resulting effect of an allover coating and other popular surface coatings. The strung beads closely interlock and create an interesting zip effect. It is a suitable supplement for seed bead embroidery, but it can also be used for various types of stringing, sewing techniques, crocheting and kumihimo. It therefore enables the creation of diverse types of three-dimensional items. Thanks to its shape, it is an excellent supplement to PRECIOSA Pelletâ„¢, PRECIOSA Pipâ„¢ and PRECIOSA Soloâ„¢ beads, the PRECIOSA Twinâ„¢ two-hole bead and seed bead and the PRECIOSA Farfalleâ„¢ seed bead in both sizes.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
ART No.: 111 01 364
SIZE: 2 x 8 mm
