One of my first experiments with the Droste Effect, created using the Gimp and Mathmap after following the tutorial by Josh Sommers. The image is also an Anaglyph, so you’ll need a pair of red/cyan 3D glasses to see added depth.

This is a photo I've been working on for a loooong time. Originally planned for the atmospheric photo, I was having difficulty getting the settings to work the way they're supposed to. Once I got it right, I had so many good smoke patterns to choose from. Although this is not the one my oldest daughter likes the best, I love the way the smoke travels diagonally across the page.
Created with PhotoSpiralysis using the mapping from Escher's "Print Gallery" (also known as the Droste-effect).
