Orton Effect: I like the original just fine. This just gives a different perspective of the little guy, softer, yet bolder. The original was nature, this is a little more artistic.

What? You think some Flickr members have too much free time on their hands? Naaaah...

When I saw the Transparent Screens pool I couldn't resist. Here's what you do: 1) Place your camera on a tripod, 2) Remove the monitor (or close your laptop) and snap a picture, 3) Place the monitor (or open the laptop) and take another picture, 4) Open in Photoshop and select the screen area from the second picture, 5) Transfer the selection to the first picture, cut, create a new image, and distort it to make the trapezoidal selection rectangular, 6) Save the resulting image and use it as a Windows wallpaper, 7) Take the picture again taking care to align the screen image with the background (should match if you haven't moved the monitor nor the camera).

Next time I'll avoid using flash, and try to set up a multi-monitor system and maybe even throw in some paper printouts. A cool effect would be to fix focus on the screen so the background is blurry, and then put that blurry background as a wallpaper, so it contrasts with the perfectly focused screen icons (and maybe the Vista sidebar)...

...shouldn't I be working or something?

Cool effect created whilst taking a picture

Ground effect is the increased lift and decreased drag that wings generate when they are close to a fixed surface (the water in this case). This brown pelican at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve drags its tips in the water as it skims the surface of the water effortlessly.

A more than rewarding trip as we spent several hours volunteering to pick up trash along the shoreline with friends, Jan and Frank.

In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change at one place in a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. Zzzz...

No, no, no, no...

In reality, the butterfly effect is that overwhelming impulse a photographer feels to capture an image whenever a butterfly is noticed.

The ideal is to find things that have rusted naturally, but that’s not always possible. I decided to try a new rust effect product on some items laying around the house, to see what would happen. As you can see this rust effect product works very well on plastic, wood or even glass. Also possible to paint with it. Have a good fun. So I was looking at a photoshop tutorial and thought I'd give this one a try - it mimicks a Lomo effect (an older soviet camera apparently). Do people prefer the original or the Lomo-fied version?

Today something curious happened to me. While I was crossing a car park with the morning sun in my back I saw a circular light surrounding my shadow. I took a picture, because I didn’t believe my eyes. The light followed me crossover the place. At the other side of the car park I did a step into the shadow of a house, where the sunlight couldn’t reach me. The light stopped too and only a half halo was left.

"SELDOM HAS A SINGLE EVENT HAD SUCH A POSITIVE EFFECT ON AN INDUSTRY AS TUNING WORLD BODENSEE

At no other tuning event can tuning enthusiasts and car afi cionados mingle at this level. From its beginnings as an insider secret in 2003, TUNING WORLD BODENSEE has become the absolute highlight of the tuning scene – for industry reps, tuning fans and visitors alike. Today, TUNING WORLD BODENSEE is Europe’s biggest trade fair dedicated solely to tuning.

Unique presentations and event modules have become yardsticks for other exhibitions to follow, and the newly introduced European Tuning Showdown (ETS) has also proved a massive audience draw.

Exhibitors and visitors all agree: TUNING WORLD BODENSEE is cool, fun, important, congenial and trendy!"
