So I was looking at a photoshop tutorial and thought I'd give this one a try - it mimicks a Lomo effect (an older soviet camera apparently). Do people prefer the original or the Lomo-fied version?

Every disturbance has a ripple effect, no matter how large or small.
First time playing with water drops, and boy is it hard! You have to focus the camera perfectly, you have to get the lighting right, and you then have to find a way to time the shot at exactly the right moment. Well, out of 150 pictures, I got maybe ten cool shots. I just wish there was a way to show more contrast between the waves, ball of water floating, and the water itself. I'm not completely happy with it, but I guess I just have to keep trying it in different light arrangements and dishes of water/puddles.
If anyone has any suggestions on technique or something they would be greatly appreciated!

Canadian Geese lift from the icy waters of the Skunk River below a defunct dam. The act of observing this scene greatly changed it. The geese were quietly feeding until this photographer approached.

Lake-effect snow is produced in the winter when cold, Arctic winds move across long expanses of warmer lake water, creating energy and picking up water vapor which freezes and is deposited on the shores.
Sometimes, I think this can happen with our warm hearts as well when those cold winds blow. I hope and pray that I can keep my heart warm with the thoughts of all my beautiful flickr friends.

Four off-white horses inhabit a very old farm I visited recently. Seeing them all together is a treat, at least to me as I used to have an old Welsh pony-Quarter horse who was similar in color. Getting these four to stay in a nice neat bunch for photographing is another matter!
This photo didn't have much of an impact so I took the liberty of adding a watercolor effect. Horse-lovers know that horses can be dreamy and subtle just like watercolors, at least when they're not headed back towards the barn and their grain... :)
