FR Cinq instants volés, cinq éclats de lumière.

Un regard qui perce l’obscurité, une âme qui se révèle dans un trait de clarté.

Five stolen moments, five glimmers of light.

A gaze piercing the darkness, a soul revealed by a single beam.

An old villa on the Isle of Capri in the town of Anacapri.

Street photography of a solitary figure walking in fromnt of the Kitty Bridge on Redhill Street in Ancoats, Manchester, with dramatic lighting and urban contrast. The image captures a person in dark clothing crossing the concrete pedestrian bridge, while vibrant red graffiti on a brick wall creates a striking focal point in the composition. The industrial urban setting showcases the gritty character of Ancoats, with modern apartment buildings visible in the background contrasting with the older industrial architecture. The dramatic lighting and shadow play emphasize the urban decay and regeneration that characterizes this historic Manchester district.

I used the Dramatic Light filter in onOne Perfect B&W for most of the image, but used Perfect Layers to mask out the woman’s head, and applied a bit of extra detail and desaturation to her hair in the Enhance module.

Studio work photographing ballerinas with a constant light and with flash.

Summer's End: Lunar Glamour: Stripped down to silhouette and texture, this study maximizes contrast. The negative space allows the metallic sheen and the depth in the subject’s gaze to become the central narrative elements.

Red Gown - Under the Flare (B&W): Power draped in silk. The rich, undeniable texture of the gown anchors the subject's presence. A study in bold confidence, perfectly framed by clean studio lighting.

I accidentally sat on the floor next to a heater and thus the blowing hair. :)

April 3. My sister is always game for some awesome and funky dance moves. I got a new 430ex ii today in exchange for my Promaster 7500edf which I'm very happy about. It wasn't doing what I wanted / what I thought it was supposed to do so the awesome people at Dan's Camera City in Allentown, PA let me return it for marginally less than the price I paid for it. They always give me the best customer service when I go there.

Alternate photo which I had a hard time choosing between.

Note: There were quite some annoying tourists in this otherwise nice desktop background. I removed them for you. You are welcome. ;-)

So here is the deal with these recent images of myself... I was signed to a modeling agency and needed some images for a portfolio. So being a photographer, I decided to save a bit of money and do it myself :)

This particular image though was taken by my good friend Dennis Line, who graciuosly spent an evening working with me in his studio as we played around with lighting techniques.

Channeling the haunting elegance of silent-era screen legends, this monochrome portrait captures a moment suspended between glamour and melancholy. With eyes that feel lifted from a forgotten nitrate reel, the image echoes the emotional intensity and enigmatic beauty of classic cinema’s golden ghosts. Miranda embodies a timeless cinematic presence through shadow, stillness, and expression.

Serene Nature and Red: Crimson Passage (B&W):

The journey unfolds between water and stone. The movement is guided by the fabric’s liquid fall, transforming a simple walk into a tableau of heightened presence.

Because it's been a while. Haven't uploaded any pics since... too long.

This year, I joined a local photography guild to force myself into trying things that I have no idea how to do!

Like taking studio portraits of a model!

Last night the club held an in-studio session with a model named Sarah Van Der Valk. Thankfully the much more experienced members of the club know how to set up lights, because I have no idea!

Over two hours, we all took turns photographing Sarah in three different scenarios and outfits, the lights were set up for us and we figured out our camera settings.

So, here is my first official attempt at in-studio model portraits using a combination of flash and constant light.

Thanks The Latow Photographers Guild and Sarah van der Valk

In the dying light of a winter's evening, beneath cold stadium lamps and heavier expectations, one lone player shoulders the storm. The chaos surrounds him—hands grasp, bodies clash, and determination collides with resistance—but his eyes never lower. It's not just a scrum of boys. It’s a moment carved from courage, stitched with loyalty, and laced with silent resolve. Every tackle, every cry, every breath is part of something larger—a raw hymn to bravery in motion, where the line between defeat and glory is not defined by score, but by heart.

A captivating portrait showcasing the intensity and vulnerability of a young man, captured with dramatic lighting and a minimalist aesthetic.
