This is my MeKeVoRkA costume I made a few years ago. The chest plate is using an EL sequencer that has been modified to use a larger inverter. Unfortunately the photos don't show all the strands lit at once. There is a Basic Stamp microcontroller that is used to activiate a laser module and the red eyes in the mask. The mask also has a microphone that goes to a voice changer box and 10W audio amplifier. All the EL wire interferes with the audio, but I think it sounds kinda cool. There's a video with sound on YouTube, see above for the link.

The belt pack contains the audio amplifier + voice changer circuits, the Basic Stamp board, the hacked sequencer, three EL wire drivers and two sets of eight AA rechargable batteries to power it all for about 3 - 4 hours.

As part of the team building component of Term 1 Project Management, students are given a box of dollar store objects and a mission: keep a marble moving along a course for as long a time as possible, with it ending up falling into an egg cup. Armed with plastic necklaces, dominoes, bendy straws, a roll of toilet tissue and other priceless objects, teams compete to create the best design to meet the goal. Upon completion, the teams analyze their designs for strengths and weaknesses and process key team dynamic components — How were design decisions made? How were disagreements resolved? How was leadership determined? Did team members contribute equally to the vision and how did they each fare when it came to implementation?

Because a lot of my sculptural work comes under the umbrella of assemblage I tend to collect large quantities of found objects and materials - always being drawn the things and forms that have a certain resonance, but not always knowing what I will eventually use them in.

In this drawing I have taken a few of these items and, without trying to concern myself too much over matters of how the individual forms relate to each other, I've attempted to morph them all together. This proved to be more easily said than done, as a life time of drawing, awareness of perspective and of trying to accurately create the illusion of 3D forms in a 2D plain can hard wire the brain to following certain rules. None the less I'm quite happy with how it turned out - there are some interesting connections going on. A friend recently said that there was a lot of sexual imagery in the piece. I'm not sure if that says something about him or me.

Anyway - this work has just gone on display in Vamalgam 4, the Victoria and Albert Museum's new staff show. This year's exhibition is the biggest of the four shows, with some of the best work yet. The work ranges from painting, to photography, to drawing, to mixed media and showcases the diverse creative abilities of the people who make up the V and A Museum.

First the image was converted into a set data vectors in format (x,y,r,g,b), one for each pixel in image.

Then this 5D-data was projected to 4D-space using principal component analysis, The resulting image was rebuilt based on that reduced information.

Fiber optic passive components are an important part of fiber optic communication systems. Classified by function, there are fiber optic connectors, fiber optical adapters, optical attenuators, optical isolators, and optical circulators.

Optical fiber communication systems are developing towards access networks, broadband networks, dense wavelength division multiplexing systems, and all-optical networks, placing new and higher requirements on the technology of fiber optic passive devices.

Therefore, how to grasp the technical development direction of optical passive components to meet the needs of the market has become a concern of the industry.UnitekFiber provides fiber optical components. Our components are including fiber optic connectors, fiber optic adapters, attenuators etc..With reliable quality control system for connectors ceramic ferrules and ceramic sleeve warranting stable performance at fiber optical network construction.

To make these you'll need empty glass jars, two-component glue (water-soluble eco-friendly glue won't work), glitter for the snow, ½ teaspoon glycerine for each jar ( to make the glitter float longer) and maybe some sort of preservative (like you use for jam) to make sure that the water doesn't go bad too quick.

We used some old plastic toys and we made some trees and mushrooms from "cernit"

They don't last forever. I didn't glue the lids so we can empty them and save them for next year. I you have small kids who like to explore the world you might want to glue the lid on ;)
