Class 501 EMU leaving Broad Street on a Richmond service. Closure of Broad Street was agreed 2 months after this picture was taken and the last platform closed in June 1986. The class 501s were withdrawn less than a month after this picture was taken to be replaced by Southern 2-EPBs on the North London line services and class 313s on the Euston-Watford services.
Preserved Metropolitan Cammell Class 101 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 101681 in British Railways livery and with Driving Motor Brake 51228 leading at Sheringham Station on the North Norfolk Railway in Norfolk (UK). Note the Brightlingsea destination blind.
These first generation DMU's were introduced in 1956 and some remained in service up to 2003.
Thank you to David for taking this photograph on a very brief visit to the NNR and is posted here with kind permission.

The Nickel-class corvette is the smallest ship in the Federal Navy. Casian Dockyards designed and built these ships when asked by the Naval Procurement Board for a cheap patrol airship. The Nickel is named so because they cost about as much to build. They are incredibly simple to build and maintain. They are very fast, but are restricted to calm-weather conditions because of their size.
All versions of the Nickel class have a deck gun mounted frontally, but some versions also have aerial torpedo launchers on the bow to give them a chance against heavier opponents. In recognition that the type is extremely vulnerable, the Nickel class has a high amount of Mechanicum gear inside, lowering crew requirements.
During the Blighting, they were very useful in evacuating refugees and military personnel. However, during the Great Scouring, they suffered horrendous losses, mostly to Feral Behemoths. The few that were left were barely reinforced by replacements when the Continental War started, leading to further losses. The enormous casualty figures lead to a change in policy as to the use of the Nickel-class corvettes. Subsequently, they were never to be used in a frontline combat role and wold instead be relegated to patrol and policing duties.
Although some were sold to foreign nations and the type has seen some success outside of the Federal Republic of Casia, it is not generally considered a very good ship. If the best one can say of a ship is how fast it can run away from trouble, maybe it shouldn't be looking for trouble in the first place.
The Casian Dockyards are just barely kept afloat by orders of this ship, but they need to quickly design a newer, better ship if they are to succeed in the cutthroat world of airship building.

GWR Class 165 No.165133 passes Fairwood Junction, with the 07:07 Worcester Shrub Hill to Weymouth service,on the 16th of November 2021.
The Class 153 Units were the product of splitting up the Class 155 units and adding a cramped cab on the inner ends. This produced a versatile unit which could be added to strengthen other units or operate on their own.
The Cardiff allocation were always a good bet to arrive in Manchester on a Sunday as these were the units which operated the Central Wales line and recessed at Crewe over the Saturday night and these trains were used to return the units to Cardiff.

Siemens Desiro Class 360 Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 360110 ready to start work with the 1Y35 09:52 (09:52 RT) Abellio Greater Anglia Ipswich- London Liverpool Street service train at Ipswich Station on The Great Eastern Main Line in Suffolk (UK).
Abellio ScotRail Class 380, 380017 arriving into Cumbernauld railway station working 2J78 Glasgow Queen Street - Falkirk Grahamston on the 19th of July 2018
Due to the Open Golf at Carnoustie ScotRail have sent DMU's to the east for extra capacity and in turn have put electric trains on services out of Glasgow. This is the first of two days where the Class 380 operated on passenger workings on the Cumbernauld & Grahamston line
General Motors powered Network Rail 'bodysnatcher' Class 57 locomotive, 57306 leads 57310 at speed northbound at a painfully dull Generals Lane Boreham on the GEML with the autumn weekday 08:34 3S60 Stowmarket DGL- Stowmarket DGL via Shenfield, Clacton on Sea, Bury St. Edmunds, Ely, Thetford, Soham and Norwich etc sandite spraying RHTT.
RHTT trains spray water and sandite jets at up to 20,000 psi for the cleaning and removal of autumnal fallen leaves from the rail head.
57306 first entered service as Brush Type 4 D1919 on November 22nd 1966.
A class 506 EMU with power car M59402M leading enters Manchester Piccadilly in November 1966. The train carries an all over green livery, a yellow panel, and a BR "ferret and dartboard" carriage transfer.
Obviously, when delivered they would have carried BR's "mono-cycling lion" crest, and they wouldn't have had a yellow panel; and I THINK they were painted a lighter shade of green - I first saw one in about 1957, and my recollection is that the green was lighter than that shown above (this is BR Brunswick Green as used for locos, or something similar)
British Rail Class 220 'Voyager' 4 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 2200XX working the 1V42 06:10 (10:29 12L) Cross Country Trains Derby- Plymouth service train westbound at Totnes Station on the South Devon Main Line in Devon (UK) on June 25th 2018.
Note the lack of any obvious numbers to quickly identify this Class 220 unit for enthusiasts and railwaymen alike. Very irritating.
Also note the 'Dellner Coupling' at the front of the train which is a version of the Scharfenberg coupler that connects pneumatics and electronics at the same point of contact.
The energy absorption technology in a Dellner Coupling is designed to allow an accidental collision up to 9 mph with no structural damage and up to 22 mph with some carriage deformation, however up to this speed the train should remain upright and on the track.

Class 82 82007 was originally E3053, and was one of a batch of 10 Metropolitan Vickers 3300hp electrics, dating from 1960-62. In spite of showing signs of crash damage, when pictured in Crewe Works on September 24th 1977, it survived in service until July 1983, and was eventually scrapped in Leicester in October 1984.
