Steyrtalbahn stoomlocs 498.04 (type Uh gebouwd door Krauss in 1929) en 298.102 (Krauss 1888) poseren geduldig in Grünburg tijdens een fotoshoot. Deze Oostenrijkse 760mm smalspoorlijn Steyr Lokalbahn - Grünburg werd door de Österreichische Gesellschaft für Eisenbahngeschichte (ÖGEG) overgenomen van de ÖBB.
Steyrtalbahn locomotives 498.04 (class Uh built by Krauss in 1929) and 298.102 (Krauss 1888) at Grünburg, Austria during a special charter. The Österreichische Gesellschaft für Eisenbahngeschichte (ÖGEG) took over this 760mm narrow gauge line Steyr Lokalbahn - Grünburg from the ÖBB.

After the short visit to the Liège – Luxemburg line, we headed towards line 24 for some freight trains from Germany. On Sundays, after 3pm, a whole bunch of trains that had been waiting in Germany head into Belgium.

Voor speciale ritten waren in Syrië in 2002 nog stoomlocomtieven van de Chemin de Fer de Hedjaz Syrie (CFH) rijvaardig waaronder deze 90 van fabrikant Hartmann uit 1907. Op de zogenaamde Libanonlijn van Damascus naar Serghaya passeert de excursietrein de spectaculaire Barada-kloof bij Teqieh. Meer foto's van de voormalige Hedjaz Railway met een spoorwijdte van 1050 mm zijn te vinden in mijn Jordanië-album.

Ferrosur AC44CW No. 4414 is leading a loaded auto train from Aguascalientes, Ags. towards the port of Veracruz, where the vehicles will be loaded onto ships for export. The train is coming out of tunnel 23, at SC-292+480 between the sidings of Acultzingo and Mezquite, and is about to enter a 270-degree left-hand curve that will take it to the track seen middle right. Export autos are a significant chunk of Ferrosur's traffic with several pairs of autorack trains running daily.
There were still a few locations we wanted to do before heading north. This one with the "launching platform" of Settat (in reality it's a Holcim plant) being of them.

Photoshop or not? Only timing and luck were needed to get the red tractor next to the identicaly colored DB engines.
No idea if this location still exists, or if bicycle highway fences are blocking the view.

Last week's family weekend took place near Paliseul. I couldn't resist the beautiful light on Thursday, and rightfully so. Only a few seconds after it came around the corner, I could make this shot of train 44841 to Thionville. CFL's 3014 is helping out Lineas' 1307.
Only a few hours later the cloud cover took over until the end of the weekend.

I spent the last day of my yearly vacation on the Montzen route. Starting the day in Sint-Martens-Voeren, I ended in Hoeselt.
At the very end of this last day of my yearly vacation, I could squeeze out shots of 2 more freights heading west. One of them being a train loaded with Move and Ewals containers, headed for Genk. The train is seen just south of Hoeselt.
Shoutout to Trainbelge, who I met in Hoeselt again, after meeting each other for the first time 1 week earlier in France.

Le 11 Juillet 2019, la BB 22389 était en tête d’un Naviland en provenance de Vénissieux et à destination de Fos-Graveleau, le convoi est vu sur la branche Avignon - Miramas via Cavaillon, de passage à Orgon en milieu de matinée.
Schemering op het station van Lviv. Nog net op tijd voor de foto ging als eerste de verlichting onder de stationskappen aan. Op de vrijdagavond maken drommen reizigers gebruik van de Oekraïense spoorwegen (UZ) en langeafstandstreinen met 18 getrokken rijtuigen zijn geen uitzondering. Locomotief 042 is van de serie ChS4 geleverd door Skoda tussen 1963 en 1972 en daarna fors gemoderniseerd met o.a. een nieuw front.
Dusk at the railway station of Lviv, Ukraine. Just in time for the picture the lights within the station canopy were switched on. Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) locomotive 042 belongs to class ChS4 which was built by Skoda during 1963-1972 and later modernized with a.o. a new front.

A picture to always remember Belgian weather conditions in the first half of January. By dressing warm, wearing a water-tight vest and protecting the camera it was actually rather pleasant waiting for this cargo.
We see Simon safely leading his car train to France. Train 46362 left Gent-Zeehaven 20 minutes earlier, and still has a long time to go before arriving in Busto Arsizio.
Le 29 Juillet dernier, la BB 22275 assurait l’un des habituels Naviland pour Fos Graveleau. Parti avec une quarantaine de minutes de retard de l’agglomération Lyonnaise, le convoi est ensuite retenu presque une heure à Avignon.
Les ombres gagnant alors du terrain au fur et à mesure, il a fallu rapidement trouver un coin encore éclairé, c’est donc juste après l’ancienne gare de Graveson Maillane que le convoi est vu, quelques minutes avant que le soleil ne disparaisse définitivement.
Autumn season is there: time to get into the night again. I started the new season with a warming up session in Wetteren. Testing a new addition to the gear, and learning more about which spots are suitable for this type of photography.
This was a very nice photo to make. Getting the gear set up using feeling only, tweaking location and gear until things were the way I wanted them to be. During all this time, no bike or pedestrian came by. It was perfect to get into it again. The train pictured was the most interesting one of the evening. Hauled by a mainline diesel (who knows how long this will last), it connects the Kluizendock in the port of Ghent with Mortara in the north of Italy. It’s usually a colorful and well loaded train, no exception today.

On an unusually humid and hazy late-September afternoon, CN's daily Chambord-Montréal manifest is grinding out of Charette with two horses pulling a heavy train of wood and aluminium products from Northern Quebec. Consist : CN 8908, CN 2595.
It was, again, a very hot day and I didn't feel like sitting at the pool from early on. I'm sure my son, if he could speak, would have said exactly the same thing. So I took him to Rouffach with the airconditioned car, where we set up gear and a playing blanket under a large umbrella.
It was a day in France that felt almost like a day along the tracks in Belgium. 4 out of 6 freights came from Belgium, and on top of that I met the guys from Trainbelge.

On a spectacular winter morning, a CP crew tasked with bringing train 251 from Jackman to Farnham is pulling into the town of Magog with a trio of the company's finest candy apples in charge of 95 cars. Here, the track briefly follows the Magog river before veering northeast towards the mighty Mount Orford. Consist : CP 6232, CP 6262, CP 6258.
