Railtraxx' shuttle to Linz was also underway, but would be a bit too late in Schoppem. I also wanted to make photos on top the viaduct of Sint-Martens-Voeren, which I could now do since I brought a high tripod for a first try-out. No luxury it seemed, as the bushes were really high. It had been more than 20 years ago that I last stood here, so I took the time to wait for a couple of trains. Railtraxx’s Linz shuttle or Medway’s Germersheim shuttle: hard to decide which one was the cherry on the pie at this location, but I think I go for Medway.

The cement train was a deception, but there was still time to make up for it with a nice photo of a passenger train. My local guides lead the way, and in no time we could set up our gear in a field in Turcianske Teplice, in time for a train coming from Banska Bystrica.
The line from Banska Bystrica looks impressive, judging by the map. Another reason to come back, although I’m not sure if train consists will still be as interesting (read: loco-hauled) as back in 2016.

It is seen passing the former connection with MMA/CMQ/CP's Saint-Guillaume subdivision, which has not been used since at least 2015. Consist : CN 3115, CN 3274, CN 3818.

Ferrosur AC44CW No. 4414 is leading a loaded auto train from Aguascalientes, Ags. towards the port of Veracruz, where the vehicles will be loaded onto ships for export. The train is coming out of tunnel 23, at SC-292+480 between the sidings of Acultzingo and Mezquite, and is about to enter a 270-degree left-hand curve that will take it to the track seen middle right. Export autos are a significant chunk of Ferrosur's traffic with several pairs of autorack trains running daily.
I spent the last day of my yearly vacation on the Montzen route. Starting the day in Sint-Martens-Voeren, I ended in Hoeselt.
At the very end of this last day of my yearly vacation, I could squeeze out shots of 2 more freights heading west. One of them being a train loaded with Move and Ewals containers, headed for Genk. The train is seen just south of Hoeselt.
Shoutout to Trainbelge, who I met in Hoeselt again, after meeting each other for the first time 1 week earlier in France.
