ack to Horna Stubna, to check what action can be expected next. THere was not much asking involved, as we saw this train running into the station. This is the train I came to Slovakia for: cement train 55721 from Lietavská Lúcka to Zemianske Kostolany, pulled by 3 Bardotka engines. Some people see a similarity between the locomotive's nose and Brigitte Bardot, hence the nickname.

In opdracht van de treindienstleider in Post T (gevestigd in het stationsgebouw) bedienen de seinhuiswachters van de Posten I en II de wissels en seinen van het spoorwegemplacement van Simpelveld. De seinhuizen uit 1920 met alle bijbehorende apparatuur zijn een rijksmonument (518645) en worden door de Werkgroep Seinwezen van de Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij (ZLSM) liefdevol in werkende staat onderhouden. De seinhuiswachter - in historisch verantwoorde kleding - kan na het passeren van de museumtrein even de benen strekken tijdens het blauwe uurtje.
Signal box II at Simpelveld, The Netherlands along the heritage railway line of Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij (ZLSM). This state monument is kept in working order by a small group of dedicated volunteers.

N O T F O R C R O | On its second day of revenue service in its new British Columbia Railway paint, CN 3115 is at the helm of daily Toronto-Halifax box train 120. It is seen passing the former connection with MMA/CMQ/CP's Saint-Guillaume subdivision, which has not been used since at least 2015. Consist : CN 3115, CN 3274, CN 3818.

Ligne 798 000 Saint-Georges-d’Aurac–Saint-Étienne
As the mighty Rivière Moisie roars underneath, QNSL's general freight train rolls north out of Sept-Îles behind a pair of the railroad's many rebuilt SD40's. As well as company material/equipment, this train carries Schefferville-bound freight and mail which will be handed off to Tshiuetin Rail Transportation at Labrador City.

Somewhere on the eastern part of the Yamanote line (the driver of this train is a bit unusual in that he is not wearing white cotton gloves).
The cement train was a deception, but there was still time to make up for it with a nice photo of a passenger train. My local guides lead the way, and in no time we could set up our gear in a field in Turcianske Teplice, in time for a train coming from Banska Bystrica.
The line from Banska Bystrica looks impressive, judging by the map. Another reason to come back, although I’m not sure if train consists will still be as interesting (read: loco-hauled) as back in 2016.

Le 8 Juin dernier avait lieu une circulation Infra reliant Miramas à Veynes sur la ligne des Alpes. La BB 75096 était en charge du convoi composé de 6 ballastières, ce dernier est vu de passage à Mérindol au bord de la Durance, sur la portion entre Cavaillon et Pertuis en milieu de matinée.

After a refreshing night in Fès - I love riads - we left for a full ay along the diesel line bewteen Fès and Taourirt. Weather was looking great and we headed straight to the region where we left the day before: the barrage Idriss 1ier. The chosen photo location was top class. Blue lake, hills, and underneath the recent bridge you can see the bridge of old alignment of the railway line. What will make us remember this location even more, is the encounter with a railway employee while waiting for the train. Very friendly man, and once he learned that we're Belgian, he started shouting "Roi Baudouin". Constantly. Even from inside the bridge deck, where he had to work. Hilarious :).

Back to the Aachen - Antwerp corridor, where I kept on moving further west. Next stop: Vreren-Nerem, another location I hadn't been at for a really long time. I got only 1 train, but that was all I needed in this beautiful evening light.

After an overnight trip from Halifax through a storm front that dumped over a foot of snow in some locations, VIA Rail's westbound Ocean pulls into Drummondville with a pair of F40PH's leading the usual mixed HEP/Renaissance consist.
Railtraxx' shuttle to Linz was also underway, but would be a bit too late in Schoppem. I also wanted to make photos on top the viaduct of Sint-Martens-Voeren, which I could now do since I brought a high tripod for a first try-out. No luxury it seemed, as the bushes were really high. It had been more than 20 years ago that I last stood here, so I took the time to wait for a couple of trains. Railtraxx’s Linz shuttle or Medway’s Germersheim shuttle: hard to decide which one was the cherry on the pie at this location, but I think I go for Medway.
