This is our wonderful Mikado 141R out on the turntable. We can not turn it there as it too long!
Retour en Normandie des pèlerins après une semaine passée à Lourdes. Assuré par la rame 717 à l'aller depuis Rouen, le retour s'est effectué aussi via la ligne Paris-Mantes via Conflans avec la rame 715 cette fois-ci pour Le Havre. La voici en train de franchir le pont Eiffel peut après la gare de Conflans-Fin-d'Oise en direction du Havre.

In the first half of 2016 I (finally) started exploring the German Ruhr region, a region said to be busy with railfreight traffic. My route to the region runs along the Eindhoven - Venlo line, which also sees quite some freight trains... a logic stop for having breakfast! In America I found this view - it is stitched together using 3 photo's to get the panorama. The mossy caravan wasn't about to move anytime soon, but I was lucky to still see (the front) half of the horse.

A Great Western Railway high speed train with power car 43023 stands at Weston-Super-Mare with the 1A20 1230 departure to London Paddington on Easter Sunday 2016.
The 241.A.65 is another big french steam locomotive within Switzerland. The locomotive has been constructed in France, which you notice by many details compared to our Mikado.
We had an excursion today with both locomotives on the lead. This is one of my rare pictures with the other big French locomotive in Switzerland.
You notice the size of the machine only by having the people within the frame.

I'm neither a typical collector of stamps, nor a stamp dealer. I'm only a stamp photograph. I'm fascinated of the fine close-up structures which are hidden in this small stamp-pictures. Please don't ask of the worth of these stamps - the most ones have a worth of a few cents or still less.
By the way, I wanna say thank you to all flickr users who have sent me stamps! Great! Thank you! Someone sent me 3 or 5 stamps, another one sent me more than 20 stamps in a letter. It's everytime a great surprise for me and I'm everytime happy to get letters with stamps inside from you!

SNCF: enters Perpignan station a TER regional train from Cerbère to Avignon, headed by the electric locomotive 507205 with a consist of six Corail carriages.
SNCF Mobilités: a Class X 76500 DMU (Bombardier AGC) arrives at the Marseille-St-Charles station, working a regional train.
Three photos of trains on the Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme, taken between 7th and 9th May 2023. The engines are Pinguely 101 built in 1905 and Haine Saint Pierre No.15 built in 1921.
Régie autonome des transports parisiens (RATP): on the section of RER B that belongs to the RATP, a train leaves Massy-Palaiseau station in the direction of Mitry-Claye. It consists of the EMUs Z 8478/8477 (type MI84, owned by the RATP, still in the original colors "Île-de-France") and Z 8190/8189 (type MI79A, owned by the SNCF, in "STIF 2009" colors).
No trip to Chicago is truly successful without the obligatory CTA Tower 18 shot from the parking garage at Lake and Wells. It's good to benefit from high sun once in a while.
CFL: as part of celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the railway in Luxembourg, the weekend of 9 and 10 May was organized an international exhibition of rolling stock in Luxembourg Gare deposit. During both days, a shuttle train with steam locomotives linked the station with the deposit.

De zomermaanden lijken steeds wisselvalliger te verlopen. Zo ook de maand juli van het jaar 2020. Langdurige perioden van warm zomerweer ontbraken in die maand. Ook vrijdag 10 juli begon grijs en regenachtig. Pas in de vooravond werd het droog en verschenen de eerste opklaringen. Tijdens die eerste opklaringen kon onder kille omstandigheden rond 10 voor 8 in de avond de Intercity van Enschede naar Schiphol vastgelegd worden.
De onder treinnummer 1668 rijdende trein bestond die avond uit een driewagen- en een vierwagenstel van het type ICM. Van dit materieel zijn - verspreid over verschillende deelseries - 94 driewagenstellen en 50 vierwagenstellen afgeleverd. De eerste deelserie van zeven driewagenstellen verscheen in 1977 op de baan. Tussen 1983 en 1990 volgden de resterende 87 driewagenstellen, direct daarop aansluitend gevolgd de vierwagenstellen. Eind 1993 werd het laatste treinstel afgeleverd.
De eerste deelserie is reeds in 2003 buiten dienst gesteld. De treinstellen van de overige deelseries rijden nog volop. In 2020 werden er rond de 60 driewagenstellen en 35 vierwagenstellen in de zogenaamde ‘Noordoost’ ingezet; de verbinding tussen de Randstad en Amersfoort / Enschede / Groningen / Leeuwarden. Sinds de tijdelijke terzijdestelling vanaf 3 december 2020 van het DDZ-materieel wordt vrijwel al het ICM-materieel in de Noord-Oost ingezet. Daarbij nemen ze vrijwel de gehele treinserie voor hun rekening.
De oudste ICM-treinstellen zijn nu rond de 40 jaar oud. Ook voor de ICM-treinstellen vormen zich de eerste donkere wolken aan het zwerk. Hoewel het materieel nog vele jaren op het Nederlandse spoorwegnet zal zijn te bewonderen, zal naar verwachting over een jaar of vijf begonnen worden met de afvoer van het materieel; op het moment dat er voldoende treinstellen van het type ICNG (InterCity Nieuwe Generatie) zal zijn afgeleverd.
Tot die tijd kan het materieel vast worden gelegd met oer-Hollandse taferelen, zoals op de foto die genomen is in de Soester Eempolder.
