On day 2 of the trip I followed the railway Line from Dresden to Usti Nad Labem, that follows the Elbe river. I'll stay polite and not describe the weather... let's see it as an opportunity to be able to shoot in 2 directions.
I found a good shelter at the station of Obervogelgesang, only coming out to make a photo. I've alwyas been a fan of the 189-series locomotives, and they actually ride relatively close to home... but not the ones without the big white square on the front. Something to be excited about in the rain :)

SNCF: a set with two Class Z 5300 EMUs arrives at Versailles-Chantiers station, working a suburban service on the line C of Paris RER.
The Class Z 5300 consisted of 145 three and four car EMUs for direct current lines (1,500 V), built by Carel-Fouché-Langepin, MTE/Francorail, Fives-Lille and Oerlikon between 1965 and 1975, for the commuter train services. The last EMU of this Class ran on December 8, 2018.

Chemin de fer à vapeur des Trois Vallées (CFV3V): this association operates a tourist railway between Mariembourg and Treignes, in a stretch of 14 km on the line 132. This line was put into service between 1852 and 1854. The passenger service was suspended in 1963, and the freight service in 1971. The first tourist trains ran between Nismes and Treignes in 1976 and from Mariembourg in 1977. The association CF3V has a workshop in Mariembourg (with the last turntable in service in Belgium) and a museum in Treignes.
The 2-6-2T steam locomotive 64 250. It was part of a series of 520 locomotives of the Class 64, built by several German manufacturers between 1928 and 1940 for the DRG. Known as "Bubikopf", they were intended for the towing of passenger trains on secondary lines. The 64 250 was acquired by the CF3V in 1986, in a state of scrap, being put back into service in 1993 after its restoration.

After making its mandatory stop at the non-interlocked crossing of the CN Valleyfield subdivison and CSX's Montreal subdivision, CN 538 resumes its journey towards the CEZ spur wye and the interchange tracks. Consist : CN 4787, CN 4014.

EWS liveried Class 67 loco 67022 stands at Cardiff Central's platform 2, having just arrived from Canton depot with the stock for the 1W96 1716 Cardiff Central to Holyhead service.
SNCF: leaves Perpignan station a TER regional train to Avignon, headed by the electric locomotive BB 26090, with a consist of six Corail carriages.

A view from the train looking towards Launceston Station in the first days of operation. Trains were operating push-pull fashion with the single MER replica toast rack carriage being pulled to the then rail head and then propelled back. No raised platform existed at this time nor run round loop. COVERTCOAT sits at the top of the zig zag which gives access to the works and museum building.

I ended the beautiful day at the elevated track near Hrastovlje, almost halfway the climb from Koper to Črnotiče. The RG1604 to Maribor and Budapest was followed by an uphill container train. It is seen here at the entrance of Hrastovlje station, which is today only served by a bus service. Above the train, on the other side of the valley, the tracks cut through the steep hills. The train will be there in only a few minutes.

150213 and 150262 stand at Cardiff Central on 19th July having just arrived with the 1Z38 1845 Builth Road to Cardiff Central service. This was the return working of a special train conveying passengers to the Royal Welsh Show at Builth Wells. Both outward and return workings had travelled via the Swansea District Line.
Retour à vide sur Clermont Ferrand pour la rame de coils descendue précédemment sur Saint Chély d’Apcher via Neussargues, le convoi passe Albaret-Sainte-Marie sous un soleil couchant avec 50 minutes d’avance sur son horaire et arrivera en milieu de soirée à Clermont. La BB 67460 était en tête accompagnée de la BB 67629 derrière. Le 27 Février 2018.
After dropping a single loaded soy car at the west end of the siding, a SLR local out of Richmond is getting ready to lift 5 empty cars and head back east. Distribution Upton operates a busy transloading facility that mostly handles propane and grain products, and is usually served by the Richmond-Southwark road freight. Consist : SLR 3804, SLR 805.
