I just left my RE from Zofingen in Olten, when I noticed that track 9 had a open green.
I knew that it would be not a passenger train - they use track 8 to travel through Olten.
So I take out the camera, a quick control on the settings and there it is:
A double header with two Re465 machines at the head from BLS Cargo. Shooting along, I managed finally to get two good shots. This one with the approaching train.
The Re 465 is the last big electric locomotive series built in Switzerland by ABB and SLM. A slightly improved version of the SBB Re 460.
Still cold, but standing on the shore again. The short day is over already, but the shadows of the west side of the valley don’t reach the east side yet. Perfect for this colorful train to Luxemburg.

An image made during the afternoon of July 4th of 2025. Before noon I had been able to make some photos of the train serving the Aciet maintenance facilities. In the afternoon I was able to make this photo of a train coming from the homeland.
Lineas 1307 leads train 44830 from Antwerp to Tergnier, seen here at Bertry.

Retour en juin dernier dans un des nombreux coins de spot récemment élagués du PO.
Nous sommes à Lardy dans l'Essonne, il fait beau avec quelques petits voiles par-ci, par-là et de la circulations, il y en avait sauf côté FRET mais bon ça compense ,niveau voyageurs.
Voici la BB 7277 Béton, un peu retapée avec son petit numéro de chaque cotés, à la traction de l'IC V160 n°3685 Paris Austerlitz > Brive la Gaillarde, composé d'une rame classique de 7 voitures Corails ex TEOZ.
Merci l'univers pour ce petit cadeau car je ne voulais clairement pas une 26000 Carmillon délavée

Good morning!
Back in June, we returned to one of the many recently pruned spots in the PO.
We are in Lardy in Essonne. The weather is fine, with a few clouds here and there and some traffic, except on the freight side, but that's okay because it makes up for it in terms of passengers.
Here is the BB 7277 Béton, slightly refurbished with its little number on each side, pulling the IC V160 No. 3685 Paris Austerlitz > Brive la Gaillarde, consisting of a classic 7-car Corails ex TEOZ train.
Thank you, universe, for this little gift, because I definitely didn't want a faded 26000 Carmillon.

There were 2 freight trains on our radar heading towards Weiden: 1 from Bindlach, and 1 from Kolin heading in the direction of Nürnberg.
Which one would be first? We made a deliberate guess, and judging on the map and cloud radar found a possible scenario to catch the two trains in nice sunlight.
Part 1 of the scenario: the Bindlach - Weiden train around the station of Parkstein Hütten. A photo at the entrance of the station wasn't possible because the switch was turned to a track in the shadows. So we headed towards the other end of the station to picture the train when leaving. Really cool to see these mechanical signals in action!

DB 4185 134, train Bindlach - Weiden. Parkstein Hütten, October 21, 2025.
Le 23 Juillet 2018, une tournée Mauzin numéro 818977 avait lieue entre Saint Germain au Mont d’Or et Nîmes, encadrée par deux BB 69200. Le convoi est vu passant sur le défilé de Donzère avec quelques minutes de retard.
De Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) heeft een van haar eindpunten bovenop de Brocken - met 1141 meter de hoogste berg van Noord-Duitsland waar zich extreme weersomstandigheden kunnen voordoen en waarvan de top gemiddeld 306 dagen per jaar in mist is gehuld. We konden ons dan ook gelukkig prijzen met 2 dagen helder zicht en hoewel het prachtig was overdag, stond het vizier gericht op de laatste trein op deze 2 dagen. Stoomloc 99 7237-3 is hier bijna bij het eindstation op de Brocken aangekomen terwijl de winterzon door de avondschemering wordt overmand. Niet alleen het einde van de dag, maar ook het einde van de vakantie en ..... het (voorlopig) einde van deze fotografische samenvatting ervan.
The Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) ends amongst others on top of the Brocken - with 1141 meter the highest peak of Northern Germany. A place with extreme weather conditions and on average 306 days per year covered in mist and fog. We were very lucky with 2 days of clear sky and although it was beautiful during the day, our focus was on the last train of these days. Steam locomotive 99 7237-3 is approaching here the end station at the Brocken during sunset. Not only the end of this day, but also the end of the holidays and ... the end of this summary in pictures.

Not many trains run in the beautiful countryside of northeastern Morocco. In the evening light of October 25, 2019 and not far to Fès, DH 420 pulls a passenger train to Oujda near the Algerian border.

Retour aux JEP de 2025 qui étaient assez riches niveaux moments chaleureux et bien sûr, une météo des plus agitée.
L'association du Chemin de Fer Touristique du Sud des Ardennes où CFTSA nous a accueilli à bras ouvert pour contempler ses magnifiques autorails de différents types.
En voici un, l'X 3898 de type "Picasso", datant de 1954, en pleine manœuvre, afin de faciliter le passage des autres machines.
D'autres photos des autres autorails présents viendront au fur et à mesure donc, à bientôt!

Back to the 2025 Open House Days, which were full of warm moments and, of course, some very unsettled weather.
The Chemin de Fer Touristique du Sud des Ardennes (CFTSA) association welcomed us with open arms to admire its magnificent railcars of various types.
Here is one of them, the X 3898 ‘Picasso’ type, dating from 1954, in the middle of a manoeuvre to facilitate the passage of other machines.
More photos of the other railcars present will follow, so see you soon!

Sous le Pont Lafayette, le TGV POS 4404 va partir dans quelques minutes pour … nulle part. Il a en remorque la rame V150 qu’il emmène sur la ligne à grande vitesse Est Européenne (LGV Est ou LN6) faire des essais de vitesse.

Beneath the Pont Lafayette, TGV POS set 4404 is due to depart in a few minutes… for nowhere at all.
In tow is the V150 trainset, which it is taking onto the LGV Est Européenne (also known as LGV Est or LN6) for a series of speed trials.

After a trip to CN's Southwark yard to interchange, a heavy St. Lawrence and Atlantic train mainly laden with propane and lumber heads east through mile 108 of the Sherbrooke subdivision behind half a dozen EMD products. On the right is the former approach signal to Ste-Rosalie. SLR and CN rail is now split with a short stretch of rule 105 track.
The journey to Dresden went flawlessly. After checking into my hotel I took a train to Dresden Hbf, where I expected a couple of EuroNight trains. These trains change locos in Dresden, so it was a good opportunity to check out the Czech Skoda electrics, that would soon be replaced by modern Siemens Vectron locomotives.
CD 371 015 with EuroNight 477 from Berlin to Budapest. The train was braught here by 2 BR101 engines.

Dal 2023 la bella automotrice ZZ 6 (Renault ABH 1, 1936) è tornata a correre sui binari della Nice - Digne, grazie al lavoro dell'associazione GECP - Groupe d’Étude pour les Chemins de fer de Provence - che ne ha curato il restauro. Durante le vacanze natalizie, la Renault ha effettuato vari viaggi tra Puget-Théniers ed Annot: la foto la mostra nei pressi della fermata di Les Scaffarels, lo scorso 28 dicembre.
