Derst Baking Company had a booth at Taste of Savannah. At the end of the night, they had a BUTTLOAD of these little 2 slice sample packs left, and the woman at the booth said to my mom and I "Take as much of that as you want. We're not taking it back with us." So, my Mom... always all ABOUT a freebie... went and got a Boone's Farm box and loaded it UP! So now... We have more bread than I think anyone could possibly use. I have frozen about 10 of these little packs, and have another full loaf of the stuff. I just BOUGHT bread! Anyone got a good BREAD PUDDING recipe???

fresh dough
garlic cloves
fresh rosemary
salt and pepper
olive oil

It's an oven. There's a window with a Uyghur lady making the dough on the inside and her husband kneeling to one side of the oven on the outside. She hands him balls of dough, he rolls them out and slaps them into the oven, where the dough sticks to the sides. The smell alone is enough to make you weep, especially after you've had a Chinese hotel breakfast. It cost one yuan, or about seven cents.
Are you also addicted to those store-brought bread chips? You can make them easily yourself when you have any bread left. Just cut the bread into 1/2 cm slices. Pestle dry rosemary into a powder, add sea salt, garlic if you like, and olive oil, and massage the mixture into the bread from both side using your hands. Bake it in the oven until crisp. Enjoy!
