well, a bit too long in the oven...

I baked bread for the first time today. And it was delicious!

One day we bought french bread and not even one day passed that it went hard. My mom's solution? grind it down to bread crumbs for meatballs...Mom knows best. If it would've been me the whole bread would've ended up in the trash just because I wouldn't have thought about it...

In Japan they have trucks that drive around and play music. I heard it and I asked Ako "what is that music" she said its a bread truck. I had to go see. There is other music played depending on what type of truck it is. Ramen trucks have their own music, Roasted potato trucks have their own. I guess its kinda like Americans have ice cream trucks.

Pan gallego/"gallego" bread

only the 2nd time I made bread from my sourdough starter - tasted fine, but no spring at all.

This loaf of ciabatta bread is on a re-gifting plate. What's a re-gifting plate you ask? Well, it's a plate I found somewhere (don't remember whether it was a garage sale or cleaning out my grandma's or what) and then cleaned really well (very crucial step). After that we added homemade food and passed it along. Peter was instructed to do the same if he didn't want to keep the plate.

So, either this plate is destined to travel from home to home, transporting homemade goodies and reduce landfill waste by preventing the use of disposable plates OR someone that receives it will love it and keep it. Either way is good.

BTW- the plate says "Give us this day our daily bread." It took a brilliant creative leap to decide to put bread on it. Let me tell you.

here we have more bread. can you tell i'm obsessed with these recipes? how come i never tried this before? soooo simple to make.

I made bread people! And it didn't suck! I've never attempted homemade bread so I am thrilled this french bread turned out okay. Hooray!

Fresh new redesign of Bread :)

This place was amazing and something seemed familiar. I thought I'd seen them in Madison, perhaps, but looking back at my photos it was The Box Cutter Cabaret I saw. I guess they sometimes put on shows together. I wish I had gotten to Vermont early enough to catch this show but even though B&P is over for the season, you could check out Leo the Human Xylophone at this show.
