Best viewed large. One of the cattle egrets at Audubon Park, New Orleans, Louisiana. Bubulcus ibis.
A mid day shot in very bright light and dark shadows in the background. I used a little negative exposure to keep from blowing out the white bird and this almost turned the BG black.
To shoot these white birds in bright light I have to spot focus on the bird with a small bracket and also use spot exposure feature on the camera and then under expose -.3 to -.7 ev. and sometimes -1.0 ev. My Nikon will allow me turn on flashing highlights on the back of the camera and show me if I have overexposed the whites. If I don't do this and have the camera set to expose for the central area or average across the full frame then I will almost always blow out the whites in this intense light.

One with nature moments can often be a strong sensual experience. Ripping down to a singular body cover to immerse in sea water can do so much more than to wash your hot day's sweat from your skin or relax your weary, from walking, legs.
A Tidal pool sounds like a shelter from nature but more likely brings an image of safety that feels like something halfway between a swimming pool and raw waters, and if you think about it, miles away from Muscle beach exposure.
So, one more of an "one with nature moment".

I didn't hate the prequel trilogy, but it was never MY Star Wars in the same way as the original movies. However, over time I've grown to enjoy the movies and love the design work.
I've built the micro pod racers before but never really attempted any other Prequel Trilogy vehicles. Hope you like them.
One of the historic buildings that now make up the Tomball Museum in Tomball, Texas is this one-room schoolhouse. The structure, originally built in the Bellville area about a hundred years ago, typifies the school buildings common to rural Texas in the early 20th century. The single room accommodated children from first grade through the eighth grade level at the same time.
This one is from last year when I visited Chicago. Haven't been shooting much lately, hopefully that will change soon.
Since ancient years when it was still called Black Snake, one of the oldest interracial clubs in Second Life, now known as The Snake, will close on 1 August (2016). We were open for more than 6 years.
I feel sad because many nice things have happened in this place, I met many nice people and have made many many naughty and fun things.
I thank everyone who ever helped keep the place open, they are many and I will not remember all. All the dancers, Managers, Securities, Landlords, Customers and Friends.
But unfortunately due to lack of sponsorship and unfair competition for customers and good staff, we are forced to close our doors.
The club was never a place to earn Lindens, it was a place to Roleplay and to have fun, never forcing anyone to work harder than to have fun, and so is the end of a beautiful dream.

I really miss summer. It's getting cold, but on the other hand I actually love winter, although it might be a little too cold outside to take photos, but I'll do it anyways! :D

a coincidence of a high flying plane and some power cables. Normally, interactions between planes and power cables are probably not recommended. This time it seemed to work.

I do however like the purpose behind this.
Long story short, While trying to think of what to write, my light was turned off and my door left ajar. There was a slight trickle of light coming through. Just enough so I could see the outline of my notebook.
This is how I started writing in the dark. I couldn't see the page, or the lines ,nor even my words. Four times whilst writing this I forgot what I had just previously written but just kept going.
Point is.....I was in a writing slump.....wrote a random short story in the dark......then (after writing the junk you see before you) went on to do more writing in an hour than I've done in the entirety of the week. ᕕ(^ᗜ^)ᕗ

I keep forgetting which of you are writers..so i'm tagging those whom I'm pretty sure are writers.

While actually taken during the Summer of 2017, M&E 18 can be seen waiting on NJ Transit employees to come inspect the railcars before operating on the NJ Transit line.
As of this past week, M&E #18 has been sold to the Illinois Railroad Museum and will be restored to its original TP&W paint scheme.
