Work has definitely interfered with Flickr time lately, but I'll get caught up today.
Once the Central Hotel was a fine building but it's time is no more ,stepping out of the train station to see this building going to ruin is a shame
How our lives have changed one year on! It was one year since Victoria detected it's first Coronavirus case. Today on Australia Day the Worldometer ticked over to 100 million cases.
To everyone who has lost a loved one, my sympathies.
We live in a world interconnected in so many ways. This year has taught us in Australia to live a bit more carefully but we have been very lucky to live on an island with governmental systems that have prioritised health.
As the WHO preliminary report on the Coronavirus Pandemic decided- healthy people leads to more likelihood of a healthy economy. "Prioritizing health or prioritizing the economy has proved to be a false dichotomy. A preliminary observation by the Panel is that economic outcomes have been better in economies where strict public health control measures have been implemented effectively." and "There has been a wholesale failure to take seriously the existential risk posed by pandemic threat to humanity and its place in the future of the planet." Today October 18, a year is commemorated since the people rose up en masse against all the injustices accumulated over decades. And it is thanks to the popular clamor and various demonstrations throughout these months that today, a year later, we are days away from voting to start a new constituent process. Chile woke up and is still awake, I have faith that times of change are coming, which will be for the better. Take care of yourself and vote APPROVAL (plus CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION) in one more week and thus take one more step towards a better future

These wintertime visitors are always a treat and so the encounters are always special to me. The one that was one his perch stepped down into the shallow water to join the second Roseate Spoonbill that arrived a few minutes later. So, it was now a double your pleasure moment with the Spoonbills while the White Pelican stretched and contorted off in the distance on Horsepen Bayou.

One of Norwich's well known spots along the River Wensum, The building was originally a watergate from the 15th-Century. It is named after a ferryman from the late 18th-Century, John Pull.

One of the features of the Sk8 Park in Grimsby, Ontario is a group of small billboard-style panels specifically intended to host the artistic expressions of those visiting the site. As a result, graffiti is encouraged in places that are acceptable. Furthermore, periodic cleanup of the panels by town staff ensures regular refreshment of the subject matter. This image was taken in mid-February, the dead of Winter, so the snow-covered park was not in regular use and had not been for several months. The last round of painting had been ignored, likely waiting for Spring to get a refresh, with the consequence being the multiple layers of paint had weathered and flaked off leaving colourful abstracts when viewed up close. This section features and area with yellow and green patches. - JW

Taken using a hand-held Nikon D7100 fitted with an AF-S DX Nikkor 12-24mm 1:4 lense set to 12mm, Daylight WB, ISO100, Program mode, f/8.0, 1/250 sec. PP in free open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: set final image width to 9000px, adjust Tone Curve 2 in parametric mode by darkening the ‘Darks’ and ‘Lights’ slightly, enable HDR Tone Mapping and apply a light amount of HDR, enable Shadows/Highlights and recover highlights just enough that the ‘white’ areas of paint show detail/texture, boost contrast and Chromaticity in L-A-B mode, set White Balance to Daylight (5300K), boost Vibrance, sharpen (edges only), save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: increase overall contrast, fine tune overall tonality using the Tone Curves tool, sharpen, save, scale image to 6000px wide, sharpen slightly, save, add fine black-and-white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 2048px wide for posting online, sharpen slightly, save.
"One Last Look:" If I didn't have what I thought was going to be a series of on-time planes to catch to get back home (but ended up being quite the delayed fiasco that almost left me stranded at 2 airports overnight), someone would have needed to pry me away from this scene. Knowing my short time visiting Yosemite was coming to an end and not being sure I would get to come back, I took one last look at what became my favorite view that I saw in the park.
Me and JP were supposed to hit up Rowena for sunrise this morning, but the weather didn't look promising enough for us to get up at 3.30 in the morning.. Plans were called off..
Got a few hours more of sleep and woke up with this empty feeling cos I felt a little 'cheated' for not being able to shoot this weekend. So I dragged the poor missus along to shoot this waterfall. And for those of you who've been to this spot, there's a pretty scary descent down to the base of the falls... I felt kinda bad for making the poor wife climb down together with me... But yeap, we made it without any broken bones, albeit Reggie being scared half to death.. So this shot is dedicated to her for being such a trooper.. =)
This spot is soo hard to shoot, with the constant spray.. Out of all my frames, I only had a couple that was relatively spot free that I could fix in post.. damn... But all in all, this is a beautiful waterfall amphi-theatre.

I reworked my Super Hornet it to its baby brethren. Although they look similar the structure is much different, this one being much stronger.
I have a tiny fan that plugs into a USB port on my laptop. It's a magic little thing that cools me well during our very hot Summers and is most effective despite how small it is. For some reason, it has the word "Click" printed in silver on a little disk of black metal, right over the centre front where the fins of the fan meet. An ultra-violet light really lit things up nicely.
