This week we celebrate the one year anniversary since "Katie Caboose" was brought to Galiano Island. Much progress has been made, but even more awaits!
The caboose was brought to Galiano Island from the Okanagan last November and was given a new life. She currently looks like new after a fresh paint job provided by my partner in crime, my Dad. And then, one year.
365 days (ok, I’m cheating, not all of them) in a new country, with a new language, new culture, new people.
I've left my house for many reasons, I’m happy and sad at the same time. I can’t believe I did it. Me?! But, yes, I’m here.
Every day is a war, it’s a new challenge. I feel happy, excited, lonely, sad, desperate, motivated. I miss so much my family, my friends, my sea, my.. food.
This time gave me time to think, to know me, and I’m brave, I’m strong. Some days I want to go back home, but inside me I know I can’t be happy as I can be here.
I’m so glad for everything, I’m so lucky, I've had awful experiences as well as good, but it’s life. I’m opening my mind, I'm discovering a wonderful place.
I’m glad for every smile that I've had, for every tear. I’m glad to become who I am. Not a new me, I was hidden, but day by day I’m coming out.
My life is going to change again in a few months, and I’m scared, but positive, ready as always. I don’t know anything about my future, I have only to wait and see.
Happy anniversary to me.

Among photographers, there's this adage that you should look in back of your camera, not just in front. That was the case here. While photographing beautiful Convict Lake at night, I looked in back. This is the northern part of the Milky Way, the part that photographers routinely ignore. But I personally think it's beautiful, gazing at the ancient light from the "arm" our Milky Way that began its journey 26,000 years ago. As a bonus, you can also see the Andromeda galaxy. I say yessss! Convict Lake, CA, named for a group of convicts that escaped from Carson City, NV and were eventually cornered at the lake by locals. It's also one of our favorite places to kayak.

Located in a cornfield near Liberty, Indiana. Simply abandoned to it's fate. Often these are modified for storage or housing. Little hope for this school.
Zeit wieder für ein Blümchen. Diese Fotografie entstand am Donnerstag dieser Woche und ist nur mit "available light" bei einem endenden Sonnenuntergang aufgenommen wo es bereits mehr dunkel als hell war ^^
Bei der Fotografie selbst fasziniert mich persönlich die "Härchen" auf dem Blumenstängel. Hoffe es gefällt euch auch? ^^
Aufgenommen wurde das Bild wieder mit dem 35mm DX Objektiv auf Vollformat.

Ezra One’s work really captures the graffiti art mantra of taking art to the limits, and I don’t only mean the limits of the just legal system! Traditional artists move on from a base of realistic interpretations of objects, but Erza One’s comfort zone is taking letters, and the human form to the limits of exaggeration, far beyond realism. You have to LOVE Colorado! Its not uncommon to have 60 degree days in January, but today was 70! Do not be alarmed by the lack of snow, here in the Front Range we are actually above average in precipitation, January is typically one of the driest months....
Taking full advantage of the weather I headed up to Tunnel One to see what I could find. A westbound manifest screams up the 2% towards the Tunnel District....
