Each year I make a new batch of brandied cherries using produce either from farmer's markets or handpicked myself.
Create a simple syrup, add cherries work puts still intact, and brandy. Let sit for a couple months in a cool space then store in the frig through the year. Fantastic for use in cocktails.
Nothing quite like homemade bread. Takes about 5 minutes of work and a bit of waiting. Tastes like nothing you can buy. :)
A group of hard-core astronomy geeks settled down next to us, generously showing off their equipment, including this magnificent homemade telescope, through which I saw my first live sunspot!

I'd just like to say that I don't usually like blueberries. I made this sauce specifically for slathering all over homemade blintzes for Easter brunch. I might now be sold on blueberries after all. This is so good! But how could it not be? Blueberries simmered in orange juice, with a vanilla pod, sugar, lemon juice and zest. Amazing.
The animal shaped ones (cows and giraffes, i think) are beef and cheddar biscuits. The big bone shaped ones and the little cookies are peanut butter and flax seed. Murphy loves them all!
day 1 it tasted awful, but by the 3rd day it was delicious. full of yellow and brown mustard seed (way more yellow than brown), apple cider, apple cider vinegar, a little brown sugar, a little salt and some grated fresh tumeric.
I used the Tofuxpress to press and marinade a block of tofu then Den rolled it in Bisquick and other spices before putting it in the oven;very good stuff!
The mall food one is rice heavy, with one chicken egg; mine is veggie heavy with one quail egg from the jangjorim tin. My estimate: 265-285 cals; took less than ten minutes to make, because of the preprepared rice and meat. It's in a ceramic pot, cooked over direct heat. This is with half the rice and jangjorim.
