Thank you for your support and hope your week is amazing!! ❤️
A homemade card for a dear friend on her b-day. I love creating paper art like this where I used drawings skills, stamps, decoupage and of course colors.
Ett födelsedagskort som jag gjort för hand till en kär vän. Jag älskar pappershantverk som denna där jag använt decoupage, stämpel teknik, färger och t om ritat av modellen.
On the left is a wonderful artwork by Jack Monaghan with a peace lily Pete gave me a couple of years ago in bloom.
This artwork is currently for sale at Yoyo in Wellington and online via this link. I'm so excited his artwork is available on a global stage. I plan to share more shortly along with a tale of the impact his artworks have had on me.
Happy weekend everyone! Autumn arrived here today but Summer came back for a tar tar this afternoon. Yay!

Plastic balls, acrylic paints and grandchildren ended up being a winning combination. Every year that I unearth the Christmas ornaments, I'm transported back in time.

'Ham' Sandwich:
• Two slices of toasted bread — mine was Helga's 'Wholemeal Grain', one slathered with Dijon mustard, the other with organic mayonnaise.
• put on one slice:
— some leaves (I used a bit of mesclun mix)
— thinly sliced dill pickle
— several (about 1/2 package) of Tofurkey 'smoked ham-style deli slices'
— 1/2 sliced tomato, sprinkled with salt and freshly-ground black pepper
— cover lightly with kimchi and the other slice of toast (obviously spread side down! :-) )
Cut in half diagonally and enjoy!
Both my grandmothers sewed - homemade treasures from the heart, hand crafted with love.
This quilt my maternal grandmother made and gifted to my parents as a wedding gift in the 50s.
After Mom moved to assisted living, she would look at the quilt and remember her Mama.

Having a meal at the Bakaliko Taverna in the evening, this lad sailed past us on his homemade boat. I think he was going fishing but I'm not sure how successful his trip was unfortunately.
... homemade. The lime juice and zest make all the difference ... Mmmmm!
Taste a larger spoonful - it's even sweeter!
Muffins, to stave off the Beast from the East!
Recipe:
1 egg
1 cup of white yoghurt (I used low/no fat greek)
1/3 cup of oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix all in a bowl then add the following:
Preheat oven to 190c
2 cups of plain flour
1/2 cup sugar (I used half spoon sugar)
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
------------
Extra: Add chocolate chips, or blueberries, or whatever you like!
Bake for 18 mins
I find this fills out a dozen muffin cases.
While walking along a local river we came across a tree that had been gnawed on by beavers. Those shavings reminded me of feathers so we collected a small bag-full and used them to create bird sculptures. My grand kids used a glue gun to layer the wood chips over a large paper egg (used as a body form). Eyes were made of either a couple of beads or small clam shells from the river shore.
homemade strained yoghurt using the silvercrest yoghurt maker.
it's the first time i've used it and very happy with the result :)
