Here is a close up perspective of my Auntie's legs. I got her to pose in a way that recreated the style of Jenny Saville's artwork.

These wooden forms look hard to build. And then, they only guide the horizontal curves of the structure. There is probably a jig for the vertical curve at the leading edge of the ramp but, from there, it has to be feathered and faired by hand.
The whole thing is pretty tricky. I wonder what these guys are paid.
And we have long known about teachers, who are paid as if they have little responsibility.
Tow truck drivers are poorly paid. That's another job with a lot of responsibility- dangerous to the worker and to traffic if something goes wrong.
Nurses are better paid than they used to be.
But are they paid well for the long term? Is it factored into their pay that they commonly develop back and knee problems later in life?
What about Paramedics. Even they are poorly paid.
Like we couldn't afford it.
The massive form completely dominates what is essentially a small scale area of the City. Another bemehoth will soon join it, only adding to the intimidating scale here.
Although the glazing is impressive, there is little creativity in the overall outline and profile; However, meek indentations on the surfaces do help to break up the boxiness somewhat but it is basically a tired design that that has been around globally since the 1960s and 70s. I immediately think of Dallas!
“Matricole in forma” è il progetto dell’Università di Pavia che offre a 60 iscritti al primo anno di corso (triennale o magistrale) un programma gratuito di allenamento personalizzato. Caratteristica unica e innovativa: i personal trainer sono in questo caso altri studenti universitari, tutti di Scienze Motorie e con una certa esperienza in questo campo, affiancati da docenti e sportivi professionisti. L'iniziativa lanciata direttamente dal Rettore Fabio Rugge intende promuovere il benessere della comunità, proprio secondo l'espressione latina mens sana in corpore sano, e che va ad affiancarsi al già consolidato progetto “Abili si diventa” proposto agli studenti con disabilità.
Le attività, coordinate dal Laboratorio di Attività Motoria Adattata (LAMA) del Dipartimento di Sanità Pubblica, Medicina Sperimentale e Forense, prevedono due appuntamenti a settimana e una prima fase di condizionamento fisico. Dopodiché per ogni studente prenderà il via il training mirato. I posti disponibili per il secondo semestre sono al momento 20. Here's fascinating info from Cornell about White-throated Sparrows:
"The White-throated Sparrow comes in two color forms: white-crowned and tan-crowned. The two forms are genetically determined, and they persist because individuals almost always mate with a bird of the opposite morph. Males of both color types prefer females with white stripes, but both kinds of females prefer tan-striped males. White-striped birds are more aggressive than tan-striped ones, and white-striped females may be able to outcompete their tan-striped sisters for tan-striped males."

It looks like this bird is of the white-striped form. Since we don't know whether it is a male or female, it could be either an aggressive female or a laid-back male!

"Antes hacíamos siembra artesanal, teníamos que esperar a que lloviera. Hoy sembramos de forma permanente, tenemos alimentos para nuestro consumo y estamos unidos en torno a la huerta familiar", cuenta Eliana Lubo, mujer wayúu, quien hace parte de los más de 7.400 hogares beneficiados en La Guajira con el programa ReSA de Prosperidad Social.
El testimonio de Eliana fue entregado durante la feria de cultura y tradición que se realizó en la comunidad de Santa Clara en Riohacha este sábado, la cual contó con el acompañamiento del director general de Prosperidad Social, Nemesio Roys Garzón; la alcaldesa de Riohacha, Isseth Tatiana Barros y la autoridad tradicional Libia Ipuana.
En el marco de este evento, la comunidad compartió las experiencias alrededor de la seguridad alimentaria, los conocimientos adquiridos en las capacitaciones y las recetas elaboradas con productos cultivados en sus huertas familiares en donde los hogares están sembrando hortalizas, frutales, maíz, entre otros.
"Lo que queremos es replicar esta experiencia en La Guajira, por eso vamos a traer 2.400 cupos nuevos a partir de este mes de septiembre para seguir llegando de manera efectiva con estos programas a la población que más lo necesita y que requiere ese apoyo del Gobierno Nacional", afirmó Nemesio Roys.
El proyecto ReSA Étnico, implementado en La Guajira en los municipios de Maicao, Manaure, Riohacha, San Juan del Cesar y Uribia, tiene como objetivo generar espacios de participación, organización familiar y comunitaria que motiven a los participantes a interactuar con sus vecinos en torno a las huertas. En el proyecto, los participantes también han recibido animales de corral e implementos para la pesca.
