A beautiful perfect rose from my garden, thought I would do something different with it so put the frame round.

A little bit of texture from Jai Johnson.

Tulips (Tulipa) form a genus of spring-blooming perennial herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes (having bulbs as storage organs). The flowers are usually large, showy and brightly colored, generally red, pink, yellow, or white (usually in warm colors). They often have a different colored blotch at the base of the tepals (petals and sepals, collectively), internally. Tulips originally were found in a band stretching from Southern Europe to Central Asia, but since the seventeenth century have become widely naturalised and cultivated. Flowering in the spring, they become dormant in the summer once the flowers and leaves die back, emerging above ground as a shoot from the underground bulb in early spring. The tulip's flowers are usually large and are actinomorphic (radially symmetric) and hermaphrodite (contain both male (androecium) and female (gynoecium) characteristics), generally erect, or more rarely pendulous, and are arranged more usually as a single terminal flower, or when pluriflor as two to three (e.g. Tulipa turkestanica), but up to four, flowers on the end of a floriferous stem (scape), which is single arising from amongst the basal leaf rosette. 11717

The Litchfield Public Library is situated in the center of Library Park in the heart of downtown Litchfield. The block on which the library sits forms the center of the downtown square.

The Classical Revival-style library was designed by Bloomington architect Paul Moratz and was constructed in 1904-05 at a cost of just under $16,000. Funds in the amount of $15,000 were obtained from the Andrew Carnegie Library Trust. In return, the City of Litchfield promised to maintain a free public library at the cost of not less than one-thousand dollars a year. Litchfield's contribution exceeded this amount.

Known as the "Patron Saint" of libraries, Andrew Carnegie spent the first 66 years of his life building a great fortune and the last 18 years giving it away. Between 1886 and 1919 his library benefactions world-wide surpassed $56M dollars. The Litchfield Public Library is just one of 105 Carnegie grants in various amounts made to Illinois communities between 1900-1916.

A new, larger Litchfield Public Library building opened in 2017. The building shown in this photo is now owned by the City of Litchfield where it is open to the public and home to the Litchfield Tourism Office.

Litchfield, a city in Montgomery County, is located in South Central Illinois and is part of the Metro East of St. Louis. Forty-six miles to the north of Litchfield is the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield. Two separate alignments of historic U.S. Route 66 (1930-1940 and 1940-1977), aka the Mother Road, run through the city. Litchfield had a population of 6,605 at the 2020 Census.

The Litchfield Carnegie Public Library was listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1999.

The forms of the landscape on this ridge were either beautiful or bizarre.

It was strange to peer at the sky through the small opening on the left. From certain angles I could see distant landmarks through the opening.

The mangled shrub remnant on the right couldn't have been any more fitting for the place. It had just that certain feeling of character and history to it.

Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve (Quebec, Canada)

The Mingan Archipelago tells a fascinating geological story. The sedimentary rock formations date back almost 500 million years to a time when a warm, shallow tropical sea covered that region. Over tens of millions of years, a steady deposit of fine marine sediments and animal shells accumulated to form a blanket nearly two miles (!) thick that gradually turned to rock under its own weight.

Suprematism is an early twentieth-century art movement focused on the fundamentals of geometry (circles, squares, rectangles, triangles). The term refers to a form of abstract art based on the supremacy of pure artistic expression rather than on a visual or literal depiction of objects. It is entirely subjective and gives room for the artist to present what they think or perceive versus what they may see.

Zebra shark (Leopard Shark in Thailandia) are nocturnal and spend most of the day motionless on the seabed. At night, they actively hunt for mollusks , crustaceans , small bony fish, and occasionally sea snakes within the cavities and hollows of reefs . Although solitary creatures for most of the year, they form large aggregations during the mating season. Zebra sharks are oviparous: females lay several dozen egg capsules, which they attach to underwater structures with adhesive filaments.

Zebra sharks are harmless and pose no threat to humans. They are very popular in public aquariums and on diving excursions. The World Conservation Union lists the species as Vulnerable worldwide. The main threat to the species is commercial fishing throughout its range (except in Australia) for its meat, fins, and liver oil. In recent years, statistics suggest that its population is declining.

The step-like terraces form as heated water moves along the Morris-Mammoth Fault. The hot water carries dissolved calcium and bicarbonate to the surface of the terraces where pressure lessens. Carbon dioxide then escapes as gas and the carbonate combines with calcium to precipitate as travertine

Alplochschlucht

The Alploch Gorges near Dornbirn is one of the largest gorges in Central Europe. Some adventurous footbridges lead through them since 1902.

Puerta Sur Angkor Thom-Siem Reap-Camboya.

I adore the simple elegance of the cyclamen flower. :)

Sure, Jagger and Richards formed a rock band, The Game of Thrones, which performed at Buckingham Palace, where Mona Lisa had rented a room, the daily rate was a bargain. Well, her charm soon put the boys under her feet and Mona became the lead singer of the band.

All was fine till Darth Vader decides to enter as lead guitarist. Gosh! His terrible riffs were real squeaky. Once, they were performing at Westminster Abbey, but fast the ghost from Richard the Lionheart put everyone out, he was unable to sleep with that noise.

We suspect it was Rasputin who slipped LSD into afternoon tea.

The result : everybody experienced !!!

Lots of crazy nights with sex, afternoon tea and Rock&Roll.

The Stones.....I mean....The Rolling of Thrones were at the top, Leonardo was designing covers for the rock bands, doing graffiti Art around the royal palaces. And afternoon tea, for sure.

Ooooops ! Were was Mona ? Mona was bored of bad boys and afternoon tea, she went to make a Netflix series with Tom Cruise.

Depressed, Jagger left the band, and converted to Judaism.

And there was the unforgettable and crazy episode with Batman. But I can't remember, because I also had afternoon tea enough.

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. Even so, it's normal that at this point, and looking at Mona's photo above, you ask me: who the hell is the child's father ?

Eton College is a 13–18 independent boarding school and sixth form for boys in the parish of Eton, near Windsor in Berkshire.

The sedimentary rocks formed in the Upper Cretaceous that occur in the region of Torotoro, Bolivia, belong to the El Molino Formation, which can be divided into three members due to their distinct lithologic characteristics. The lower member consists of carbonate rocks, the intermediate member by siliciclastic and mixed rocks, and the upper, by carbonate rocks. These association of rocks occur as the upper strata of the Torotoro Syncline, a 45 km long and 9.5 km wide feature well preserved in the dynamic of Andean tectonic.
