In my opinion, wedding cakes are way overrated. Eric agrees.
So, we're making 10-15 bundt cakes instead.
My friend Tyler is catering the wedding, so this semester Lindsey, Tyler and I have a list of recipes for bundt cakes to go through.
Yesterday was Bundt #1.
The special ingredient? Sweet potato.
Here is the recipe if anyone wants it.
It's super moist, and super flavorful. I made some changes though. The recipe calls for 1 cup of vegetable oil, I replaced that with a cup of butter (when it comes to bundts, I'm not afraid of the butter), we didn't add the raisins, and for my liking the recipe for the glaze made wayyyy too much. I had enough to cover the cake 4 times and then have some that just puddled on the plate, so for the wedding we'll probably cut the glaze recipe into a fourth of what they have.
Wedding cake for friends. Vegan carrotcake with lemon coconut frosting and handmade marzipan details. The leaves and fruits were sculpted and painted by hand.
Joe wanna make the cup cakes for few days and finally I got the eggs and milk home, while I'm walking Gordon, he bakes the petite cup cakes and I make the dressing, lol, our 1st cup cakes!
For my friend's daughter Gabriela. Chocolate cupcakes, buttercream frosting, candy melt plaque on top
The cupcake cake I made my sister for her engagement party. It was two tiers, about 150 chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing. Also had fondant flowers and silver edible glitter on top. It was my first attempt at something this big and I loved it (and so did everyone else, it went soooo fast).
This is a Cook's Country (America's Test Kitchen) cake recipe. Chocolate cake filled with peppermint icing, frosted with white chocolate icing and coated with crushed candy canes.
This was an order for a pearl wedding anniversary for a couple who loved their exotic hols and snorkelling. The little shells had edible pearls in to reflect the significance of their 30 years, and the rest was bright and fun at their daughter's request!
White Chocolate and Chocolate mud wedding cake with royal icing scrolls on the top tier to match the invitations, and lace stencilling on the bottom tier inspired by the Bride's veil. The stripes added a modern twist, and the cake was finished with the addition of white sugar roses
Olivia was turning 10 and was having her birthday party at a bowling alley! Iced in buttercream and decorated with fondant.
This is a close up of the cake i made for my sister in laws 40th this year. She is a newly qualified nurse. The nurse figure is inspired by a cake by mossys masterpiece cake dessign www.flickr.com/photos/mossys_masterpiece_cake__cupcakes/3... which she found on google and loved (she wanted to order a cake from her... but we are in England not Australia so she had to put up with me doing it instead!! My favorite part of this cake is the sugarcraft pills and pill bottle and the plaster on the side.
