A recipe I found on David Lebovitz's site, which he in turn adapted from Dorie Greenspan's "Around My French Table." I liked the large chunks of apples, how they were soft around the edges but a few still had an appley bite in the middle, and they tasted just a little bit tart, which cut the sugar in the cake. Not a super-sweet cake, so I especially enjoyed it for breakfast. (link to recipe)
Here the cake was taken by my Mum at her house in front of the wrapping paper used to wrap my boyfriends present. :)
The final cake for the weekend and third graduation cake, all very different styles. This might be our first three tier cake. The bottom two tiers are vanilla cake with a tequila lime frosting and the graduation cap is chocolate cake.

Publex let kids buy and design kids for moms. This is the cake Thomas did for me. I took the photo after I tried some...lol
I'm taking the Wilton Course I decorating class, even though I'm kinda beyond it. I find this particular cake to be mega-dorky no matter how it's done. I'm just not a tremendous fan of that look - filling with the star tip. I couldn't stomach doing the clouds they suggest, so I made big blobs with the blue instead.
I still had a lot of fun, though!
I also picked the colors solely by deciding I wanted to see what each of pinks and purples I had look like.
This is going to Poker Night, with Aidon. I think I'll write "Poker? I hardly KNOW her!" on it.
