this is a pictuer of my cake in wilton course 2. we learned how to do the basket weave tonight. it was difficult at first but fun. i enjoyed it.. i forgot to take a picture of my mamas cake. but she put a picture of hers on her flickr. so you can see it on hers.
this cake was for an office party for THE big boss' birthday. they wanted to make him out to be a cro-magnon type of guy lording over his humble servants (hence the big club!)
*Plus bonus: chopped up cake photo for all of the annoying "Uhhh, that can't really be cake" people.
Even in a cake corner in a rural shopping mall had beautiful cakes. I wish we had these in the bay area...

This cake was for a retired obstetrician's 75th birthday. The family thought it would be a great laugh to have a woman in labour with the doctor ready to catch, The characters are made of gumpaste and fondant.

This is a cake for my sister (well my friend I call my sister!) Anyway the bust is white chocolate mud cake baked in a loaf tin and carved. And the heart box is brownie cake. All accents are fondant, painted in edible Antique Gold and a couple of Red Copper Accents. The board in grey to (hopefully) offset everything. She loves gold jewellery and the cake is a going to be a complete surprise. Sculpey clay moulds for the jewellery, and first impressions pearl mould for the bracelets, necklace on bust by clay gun.
A window display in the cake shop and tearoom in High Street, Lavenham. The shot was taken on a late afternoon just after Christmas. The reflections of a parked car and the buildings on the opposite side of High Street can be seen in the window.

This was a cake topper I made for my niece. My sister-in-law made and decorated the cake, unfortunately we couldn't be there at her party so I left this topper when we visited a few weeks earlier.
A 2 tier cake made of sponge filled with jam and buttercream. I made the characters out of edible modelling paste :-)
