Dark chocolate avocado cake filled with a dark chocolate ganache, covered with avocado buttercream. (Traditional white vanilla buttercream tinted with color was used for decorating)

Reasons why my mom rocks: Cupcakes baked in "cake cup"-style ice cream cones.
These may or may not have beed decorated by my nieces, I don't remember.
What I -do- remember is that using glaze for frosting here wasn't the best idea in history: It eventually soaked through to the cone and made the last dozen or so a little soggy.
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be able to attend a food photography styling course by William Reavell.

I may not have got everything exactly right but came away with a much better idea of food styling, lighting for food and even things my camera could do!
It was such a fun day and would recommend this level one course to anyone, no matter what level your photography or cooking skills. I didn't cook anything, just took guidance regarding styling and took photographs.

This cake was full of booze and artistic, hence the name. I hope nobody takes offense: it was a tribute, not a mockery. I had just seen that movie about him directed by Ed Harris and couldn't resist.
This cake is laden with hazelnuts, Nutella, wafers and ferrero rocher.....a rich indulgent cake Mmmmm x
Every batch of our carrot cake has six pounds of fresh carrots and the cake is made with canola oil for moisture and no trans fats.

Random cake design, I know, But soo much fun to do! The sparkling pearl necklace and ear-rings! the eyeshadow and lashes made me laugh everytime I looked at this cake.

I could have gotten better pictures of this, but that would have involved a fair bit of scooting around, and I didn't realise quite how long they were going to stand with a knife to the cake.
