"AIt's close to midnight
And something evil's lurking in the dark
Under the moonlight
You see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze
As horror looks you right between the eyes
You're paralyzed
'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight, yeah"

This was a very special memorial cake for a little boy that would have turned 6. It was one of the most emotional cakes I have ever done. It was themed for the 5 previous birthdays combined in one. It was a great honor to be involved in such a speacial cake, thank you!
I made a lemon cake for a July family birthday celebration (me and my mom). As you can see I used an assortment of candles...
I've been told that today is World Baking Day so it only feels right to post a photo of the cake I made today.
This cake was a favour for my friend Ben who fixed my laptop. It was a joint birthday cake for his two girls aged 3 and 6.
Very much inspired by Rouv's beatuiful cake (with her permission) with modifications. Made for a mother-daughter party whose birthdays fall on the same day. Very rushed cake but I hope it works!
Today Lene baked me this beautiful layer cake. The writing says "Finn 65", indicating that I am now officially a Pensioner - just like my friend Rags... ;)

The picture is from the gauntlet of birthdays I just got through. I wanted a soft vintage look here, and added a slight drop shadow to the image top & bottom & added a color letterbox to it.

This cake was based on some little models the customer had. I don't know who made them, but they were really sweet. I took three pics as there wasn't really a front or back to this cake.
Hummingbird Cake complete with cream cheese frosting, dustings of cinnamon and final touches of walnut halves. It was a very moist cake and went really well with a cup of tea!

Ingredients:
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® devil's food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
Filling and Topping
1 pint (2 cups) whipping cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons brandy, if desired
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350°F for shiny metal pans (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Spray bottoms and sides of 2 (8- or 9-inch) round cake pans with baking spray with flour.
2. Make and bake cake as directed on box for 8- or 9-inch rounds, using water, oil and eggs. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
3. In medium bowl, beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high speed until slightly thickened. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in brandy. In another small bowl, mix pie filling and almond extract.
4. On serving plate, place 1 cake layer, bottom side up. Spread with 1 cup cherry mixture to within 1 inch of edge. Top with second cake layer, rounded side up. Frost top and side with whipped cream. Spoon remaining cherry mixture over top. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Store covered in refrigerator.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Follow High Altitude directions on cake mix box for 2 (8- or 9-inch) round cake pans.
Don't be fooled, these are not edible. :D

I recently found out one of my images has been used in the television ad for Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 - I knew MS had bought the shot, but I didn't know what it was going to be used for. When I spotted it on TV, let's just say I was a little bit excited :-)
If you haven't seen the ad (and I'm not endorsing the product in anyway!) I've posted it to my tumble log - it's the image of London @ 0.42secs.
I'm so happy, have some cake to celebrate (courtesy of Mrs S)!
