My brother and his family are visiting us for a week, from San Francisco. His daughter Reyna doesn't turn 1 until May, but I wanted to make her a pretty cake to celebrate her first visit to Australia.
I made a topper for them to take home that they can keep, or put on her cake when she turns 1.

The coffee was a Gingerbread Latte and the cake Blackerry and Pistachio, and both were delicious.
2-layered chocolate cake with a raspberry mousse filling. The top is frosted with ivory colored buttercream and the side is frosted with red colored buttercream. The infinity symbol is made out of marshmallow fondant.

It was my second garden cake of the week and had just run out of inspiration.Really pleased with the end result,it is for my cousins wifes mum who loves her garden.thanks jo for being so great.x

The inspiration for this cake mainly came from Jamie Anderson's photostream. (apparently the cakes are done by his wife though). The customer gave me creative freedom and I had always admired a similar cake. It is iced in swiss meringue with gumpaste flowers. I put a big finger dent in the front of the cake when I just HAD to mess with it after it was finished. When will I learn??
made these for a lovely friend of mine to cheer her up and of course I couldn't resist a photo shoot.
This is my first wedding cake! My first big three tier cake covered in pale pink fondant. Roses and blossoms all made with fondant. Top tier is lemon, middle tier is chocolate and the bottom tier is vanilla.
This was very nerve wracking for me as it was my first wedding cake. I had to assemble on site as the reception location was up several flights of stairs so I was not able to transport the cake stacked. And thank goodness I didn't have to transport this cake assembled cake as it was sooo heavy!
I got there about 4 hours before the reception started and thank goodness I started early as I got the assembly done and just started on the decorating as a huge flurry of people came to decorate the place, set up speakers and balloons and arches in the same area. At times it was hard to stay focused with loud hip hop music blasting from the speakers :) And at times it was hard for me to decorate under the scrutiny of people watching me.
Overall I was really pleased with the way the cake turned out but of course I can see all the flaws and would definitely change things if I had to do it over again. Lots of lessons learned!

My no-fuss chocolate cake. The bliss of dark chocolate. That delicate balance of sugar and bitter. A generous slather of ganache.
Classics never disappoint, do they ?
Enjoy.
This was taken last year when we joined the Wedding Expo. Our theme was "Fairy Tale Wedding". We made sugarpaste elves and fairies, which we used to decorate the booth :-)
