Anyway, I made this cake in class; its a citrus chiffon cake, filled with lemon curd, crumb coated with italian meringue buttercream and covered with fondant ( Satin Ice).
I had an urgency and had to leave class to I decorated it at home.
As proud as I am of it, for some reason, I adore the tree. I just love how clean and simple it is. To each their own, eh?

This is the first year he has ever asked me to make him a cake instead of getting one of those cakes from the store with the blue frosting that makes things come out of you in the shade of blue.
He said he wanted a fancy chocolate cake. So he got a 4 layer dark chocolate fudge cake with raspberry filling, sugared raspberries on top....and chocolate nipples.
cake inspired by the textures and brush styles of monet and van gogh... for an art themed wedding. many thanks to surly for the referral!
cake is hand painted and textured with royal icing. "picture frame" is piped royal icing and then airbrushed. one of those cakes best viewed in real life...
