Definitely an upside to all the rain we had on our trip....we saw more rainbows in a matter of days than I've probably seen in a lifetime :-) Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend; we're off to have dinner with my dad and then on the road tomorrow to see our nephew's NCAA championship (2012) soccer team play (go Hoosiers), so I will catch up with everyone soon.

I know it is a wee bit of a stretch but I was thinking of the three main elements in this scene and their motion. The clouds look stationary but we know they move. The tracks are without a train and yet they move goods. And the wind turbine does not show motion only due to the shutter speed of the camera. Hence motion without motion.

That crane fly has a bad day, like me, when it is monday and there is no coffee in the house. Or even worse. She is not being eaten by those pseudoscorpions, they just wan't the crane fly to carry them to a better place, but they are to heavy. She tryed to get rid of them, but did not succeed.
Dieser Schnake hat einen schlechten Tag, gefühlt so wie ein Montag ohne Kaffee. Oder schlimmer. Die Pseudoskorpione wollen ihn zwar nicht fressen, aber von ihm durch die Gegend getragen werden. Sie sind allerdings zu schwer. Der Schnake versuchte unablässig sie loszuwerden, war aber nicht erfolgreich.

An endless maze of geometry and light, leading back into each other, melting into a sea of reflections.
This is the façade of a local high-rise office building. I've passed by this building countless times over the past 5 years without giving it a second though, but this time, with my camera in hand and loaded with a test roll of Adox Color Mission, the reflected colors looked beautiful. And so, for the first time, I took a photo of it.

He controls the markets of Jakku. He is Unkar Plutt. But there are always cons on this matter. Ruthless man like Unkar is often an lonely crolute. Here, I'm witnessing the scene (with my camera, of course!) where Rey is about to hop into his speeder and leave Unkar alone.
But there's a GNK power droid trying to make up friends with Unkar... without luck, so far! You know, how these GNK droids are pretty lovable but I guess Unkar is seeing everything in credits and/or portions. A world like that sounds a bit black and white to me, don't you think?
What an exciting day I've had on Jakku a few months back! Sun was shining and it was so hot, that you were one lucky man, if you've had a bottle of water with you. Hot as it was, it was also a windy, and sand were moving from point a to a z in a secs. It got stuck into everything, I'm still feeling it like the yesterday. Well, anyway, it took some days to get this scene to work the way I've wanted. Also, I guess it's a signature of me using an moisture farmer's vaporator, as I've been putting them here and there lately. But, I like those things!

Hoy hace un año de mi comienzo en flickr, comienzos casi siempre duros, sino conoces gente que esté introducida en este pequeño mundo. Yo creo que flickr es un cajón en el que hay miles de buenas fotos y personas, que están por descubrir. Mención especial quiero hacer a mi cuñado Jesús, quien me introdujo en este mundo de flickr y me ayudo en mis comienzos.
Quiero agradecer a todos los que vitáis mi galería con asiduidad, a los que la han visitado en alguna ocasión, a los que os gusta comentar, etc... Porque gracias a todos tengo las fuerzas y la motivación para seguir adelante.
Esta fotografía que os quiero mostrar, posiblemente representa una de las variantes fotográficas que más me gusta. En exteriores, donde en gran medida intervienen las condiciones climatológicas y tienes que conjuntarte con ellos para conseguir algo irrepetible. Llevo un tiempo pensando en la fotografía que quería subir este día, y después de varias candidatas esta ha sido la elegida, el resto de ellas están o estarán pronto en mi galería.
En este tiempo, he tenido encuentros y desencuentros, pero sobre todo buenos momentos. He conocido a un grupo de personas con las que he tenido una mayor afinidad y ha crecido una bonita amistad, de la ahora estoy muy orgulloso. Entre ellos están Gema, Eber, Pilar, Teresa, Toñy, Anna, Nathalie, Javi, Raúl, Juanma, Jesús, Rafael, Jesús CM. Con algunos he compartido técnicas, opiniones o simplemente momentos inolvidables e incluso en algún caso conocernos en persona.
Espero seguir compartiendo con todos mi forma de ver las cosas bajo el prisma de mi cámara. Yo como apasionado de la fotografía, disfruto viendo vuestras fotografías, e incluso en muchos casos aprendo de vosotros.

Today makes it a year since I opened my Flickr account. It is always difficult to begin in a place like this when you don't know anyone who has been around here for a while. I believe Flickr is like a big drawer where there are thousands of good photographs and people to be discovered. I'd like to thank my brother-in-law Jesús, who introduced me to Flickr and helped me in my beginnings.
I would also like to thank all the people who visit my photostream regularly, those who visit it occasionally, those who like leaving comments, etc.... because thanks to all these people I have the strength and the motivation to keep going.
This picture that I want to share with you, possibly represents one of the photographic variations I like the most. It's taken in the open, where the weather conditions play an important part and you have to adjust to them to capture something special. I have been thinking for a while which picture I would like to publish today and this has been my choice; the rest of the pictures that were in my final selection will also be published soon.
In this past year I have had good times and also misunderstandings. I got to know a group of people with whom I've shared more and become friends, of which I am very proud; among these: Gema, Eber, Pilar, Teresa, Toñy, Anna, Nathalie, Javi, Raúl, Juanma, Jesús, Rafael, Jesús CM. With some of them I've shared techniques, opinions or simply special moments and I have even met a few in person.
I hope to be able to go on sharing the world as I see it through my camera lense. Being myself passionate about photography, I enjoy looking at your pictures and in many cases, learning from you.

This tiny alley, without parking or even stopping allowed, was renamed in Bierce's honor in 1988 at the behest of Lawrence Ferlinghetti and concurrence of the SF Board of Supervisors. Ferlinghetti, noted poet, painter, publisher, and proprietor of City Lights Books in SF, also proposed the renaming of other alleys and cul-de-sacs to honor writers and artists (including Jack London, Jack Kerouac, Mark Twain, Dashiell Hammett, et al) who had lived and worked in San Francisco.
Bierce's most famous short story "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" was first published by William Randolph Hearst's SF Examiner newspaper in 1891. I don't think I own a copy of Bierce's "The Devil's Dictionary," but I have an upstairs copy and downstairs copy of "Write It Right," an annotated version of his "Write It Right: A Little Blacklist of Literary Faults" - annotation by Jan Freeman.
[ Personal aside, relative to City Lights Books, mentioned above: Fresh from almost graduating college, I arrived at City Lights in 1967 with an armload of mounted b&w photographs and was granted my first SF photo exhibit there by store manager Shig Murao, who 10 years earlier had been arrested for selling a copy of Allen Ginsberg's controversial "Howl" to an undercover SF police officer. History! ]

It's been 63 days since I started the Insanity workout program by Beach Body. It's been one helluva ride!
Normally I wouldn't post pictures of me without a shirt, but this is anything but normal for me. It took a lot for me to share these with you. I'm very self conscience and have always been embarassed by my body. But no mas! ;o)
I busted my ass for the past two months. Worked out every morning at 5am. Watched my daily caloric intake like my life depended on it. Quit drinking alcohol. Cut out all sorts of sweets. In the end, the results were stellar.
I lost a total of 16 lbs. I started at 181.2 and weighed in at 165.2. I've increased my cardiovascular condition to the point where I can actually participate in a 5k run. I've toned up and look better than I have in several years. Overall, I'm just a whole lot healthier.
I'm very proud of how far I've come in a relatively short period of time. It takes patience, persistence, and a true desire to commit to a lifestyle change. But it is worth all of the effort put forth.
So here I am, before my transformation and after training my mind and body to accept the challenges necessary to achieve my personal goals.
Want to know what the secret is?
There isn't any.
Maintain a healthy diet; exercise at a moderate pace to increase your heart rate, 3-4 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes; be sure to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day; and be sure to get your full night's rest.
Most importantly, you will lose weight if you burn more calories than you take in. This is probably the closest thing to what the "secret" to losing weight is.
It doesn't take a gym membership or fancy workout equipment or expensive DVDs. You just have to want it bad enough.
