I've been wanting to recreate this for a while now, and the "future" prompt was a perfect opportunity. Loved working with these bright colors. They were relatively easy to see at 2 AM, at least. XD
I struggled to find the best angle to present, in the end you lose some top level detail (no postapoc build is complete without rubber duckies but you can't see mine in this shot!). Like yesterday, more photos will be coming to my Blockheads once I get some sleep.

Finanly made the 3hr journey to go see the Beauchamp Falls, made it all the way there then realized i had forgotten my tripod at home lol
Had to balance my camera on a slippery rock with my wallet and phone wedged underneath to steady it
True color. Most all my photos are best viewed large. Seen in Explore 1/1/2009 #231

he arrived without appointment. he had no interest in the architecture, the history, or the carefully maintained symmetry of the courtyard. he walked between the columns the way he walked between chair legs at home — with absolute certainty and no regard for scale. the columns did not seem to mind. they had been climbed on, sat on, photographed ten thousand times. but they had never been inspected by someone this thorough, this low to the ground, this completely in charge.

Fishing like this is relaxing, without swimmers, in inviting waters rich in valuable fish, although the average size of the catch is rather small compared to the river, especially about fishing from the shore.
Along the Mediterranean sea coasts there are many more species of fish than in rivers (about 50 in this area, while in the river we rarely reach 8-10 species in the same stretch) and many are small in size, but this is compensated by the quality of the meat which is high for many of these species, as for all "white fish" (Sea Bream, Sea Bass and Dentex in the lead) even in species that remain small in size (White Bream, Saddled Bream, White Sea Bream, Black Bream...).
Large fish are mainly concentrated in port areas and at the mouths of rivers (brackish water), while along coasts like these they are only passing through.

Previously unpublished archive shot from October 2015 and a title that I had in my mind from the split second that I saw this shot to capture it. I am enjoying finding a few gems among the folders of shots I took 8 years ago now. I hope you are enjoying them too. Stay safe.
35 days. Thirty five long, interminable, seemingly endless days. That's how long I was without internet thanks to the Australian goverment and it's forced upgrades. Away from SL and my friends and boy howdy did I miss you all. But I also missed myself.
I watched too much TV, read books, finally played Bioshock Infinite as I'd been promising myself I would do for years - and loved it so much played it and the DLC all the way through twice - and just generally moped my way around like a lost soul. What was the first thing my beloved sister Grazia said to me when I told her I was back?
"Get your boney arse in SL and grace flickr with your beauty!"
I didn't have a boney arse to put on display, but I did have this boney spine which was a gacha by Antinatural, as well as the Oron ear deco by BTTB at Cake Day. Gloves by Noche, forearms by Amias - these two items can't really be worn together because of poke through, but I did it anyway. Pants are Riot, hair is Doux.
The beauty and grace are debatable but not the happiness at finally being back home.
Number 5 in my theme for this week Skies Without Land. Another soaking in East Sussex, UK taken in 2013.
Yesterday I posted to Substack a bit of writing (and audio) about why we embrace the imperfections of film photography.
Few things exemplify that as much as expired film developed in ECN-2. Here, there's color shifts and probably some odd development quirks. There are white specks all over it as well, though I don't remember why.
I shot this in 2021 and developed it that autumn. I don't know why it took me this long to share it. Probably because of the specks and shifts.
These imperfections, well, looks like I haven't quite embraced them. But it's still kind of a cool photo. And a wonderful place.
