This is the temporary waiting room until the Great Hall opens in June. There are plenty of days when Amtrak puts more then 100 people on the train... Our guide says he thinks the city will give it a maximum capacity of 70 or 80. Thankfully it will only be this way for a few months. The walls will all be torn down and the waiting area will be the Great Hall.

On Sunset in LA.
Scaffolding seems to be another recurring theme for me. It's like being inside a schematic.
The birds and kite-flyer flying a bird-kite are cut in a temporary paper window covering. I put that up for while i'm getting settled so I can have some privacy The birds are holes so curious passers-by can peek through.
When direct light comes through the bird-shaped holes in the paper window coverings, it casts these light-shapes on the adjacent window.
I love how the birds swoop around, flying in always changing spirals as the sun moves across the sky.
I went looking for blasting sand, but didn't find any, so I ended up using pea gravel as the substrate. It's larger than I wanted, but we'll see how it does. There's no sump yet, so I just stuck the pump in one end and the inlet in the other.

The statue of Peter Stuyvesant by Massey Rind was ripped off of its pedestal in Bergen Square by the Board of Education and earmarked to be installed in this small park a block away. Unusal for Jersey City there was a public uproar and the city announced plans to recreate the original 1910 base in Bergen Square, the historic center of the city. For now the sculpture has been restored and is currently occupying the place the Board intended it to. Keep in mind the temporary Guastavino tile dome at St. John the Divine was completed in 1909 and is still there.

Another scar of an earthquake.
Hankyu San-no-miya terminal,which was totally destroyed by the Great Hanshin Awaji Erthquake,was rebuilt as a "temporary" building,but has not totally rebuilt till now.
The former one,fallen down in 1995,was in a historicism style and known as a landmark of San-no-miya,Kobe.
This place will be the site for another new high-rise building,but still under planning.

in a branchless forest populated with eager dialect, even/especially in these anxious times; these retired branches become crutches when congregated. and so like a bottle rocket flying right through our cutout hearts, let these words be everything we could ever want them to be, and these common fears a makeshift prosthesis to sedate our common phantom limbs.
(and when we can get our heavy hearts to love lightly, this house of cards will become a home.)
