After many years of faithful service, our Zojirushi rice cooker finally cooked its last batch of rice. Until we buy a new one, the family will rely on this small, three cup cooker.

The pub has got planning permission to build a hotel to the rear of this historic building.

Finally got around to moving the old Mac G4 which holds my web photo albums into the closet, out of the way, making room at my desk to get the Mac Pro currently set up on my dinette table moved into the den. Eventually, the Mac Pro will power the new and improved photo server, and this G4 will go bye-bye.

Recently building has started for the third series of locks in the Lekkanaal near Nieuwegein. The original Prinses Beatrixsluizen were opened in 1938. This is the temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the construction site.
Papa is making one from wood, nothing fancy just a ring with holes for the candles, so the glass candlesticks with fake evergreen are temporary.

in a branchless forest populated with eager dialect, even/especially in these anxious times; these retired branches become crutches when congregated. and so like a bottle rocket flying right through our cutout hearts, let these words be everything we could ever want them to be, and these common fears a makeshift prosthesis to sedate our common phantom limbs.
(and when we can get our heavy hearts to love lightly, this house of cards will become a home.)

With Metrolink’s Orange County Line having been obstructed by a landslide at San Clemente, service has been temporarily suspended between San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside and passengers traveling south out of Fullerton to San Diego have therefore been instructed to board a bus at Irvine as Amtrak’s southbound Pacific Surfliner No. 564 pulls into the station.
The National Guard and local Coast Guard base were testing out a temporary pontoon bridge to cross the Portage Waterway. In case the nearby Lift Bridge were to break down for an extended period, it is important that another link be established quickly. Both local hospitals and many other emergency services are on the north side of the waterway (hence the tests with firetrucks and ambulances).
