Net Zero Needs Nuclear Power, Shared Presentations Stage 3, Thematic Arena 3, Opportunity petal, an IAEA Statement Event at the United Nations Climate Change Conference UNCCC held at the Expo City Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Blue Zone, 1 December 2023
The IAEA Event: Net Zero Needs Nuclear Power will highlight the crucial role of nuclear power as part of the energy mix. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mr Rafael Mariano Grossi will announce the ‘IAEA Statement on Nuclear Power’ supported by 40 countries, both those already operating nuclear power plants and newcomers. Together these countries acknowledge that all available low-carbon technologies, including nuclear power, should be recognized, and actively supported. The Statement underlines the benefits of nuclear power, including that nuclear power plants produce no harmful greenhouse gas emissions; that nuclear energy contributes to energy security and the stability of power grids; and that it mitigates air pollution at a local level.

Artist Statement:
This was my take on the Black Lives Matter and Police Brutality movement. Honestly, I feel like systematic racism should have been abolished a long time ago. I can not understand why this is still a problem and has been continuing for so long.
I am a white female that has never had a gun pulled on me, a knee on my neck, almost arrested, etc for the color of my skin. Although, I have seen my friends stalked in stores and I have heard the stories of my black male friends growing up. It all makes me very angry. I have been to almost all of the protests and to hear the pleading and begging for police to just kneel for the movement, breaks my heart. No one should have to beg for basic human rights. No one should have to fear for their life when they are defenseless. Police need to be held accountable for their actions. Systematic racism, and racism in general, needs to end now. We have already had the civil rights movement once hopefully this will be the last time this has to be brought up.
Everyone needs to talk about the movement. As white people, we need to talk to our relatives, we need to have these hard conversations so they will no longer continue to be part of the problem

Nicaragua. Leon.
León is renowned as a leftist center, and is the cradle of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), the leftist side during the Nicaraguan civil war. There are many monuments and artwork paying homage to the ‘heroes and martyrs’ who lost their lives fighting for equality and for the oppressed as well as political slogans and imagery.
